Which country in CONCACAF will be the first to win a world cup and why? The two obvious ones are Mexico and the United states, but who will win first?

Mexico, especially since they seem to play WAY better against the better teams. I hope they do it real soon, but realistically they probably won't do it in 2010, and in 2014 the World Cup is already reserved for the host Brasil.

I'd have to say Mexico for the simple reason that they actually seem to be able to get results against big teams.

Unless Mexico can pull it off with this incoming golden generation, I have to think that the US is going to have the better long-term (20+ years) odds.

Going on just right now, I would rate Mexico, as they regularly beat Brazil and Argentina(away from home and without bunkering) and have won World Cup games in Europe(the US hasn´t.) They seem to play better in hostile atmospheres. They are rapidly improving and finally sending players to top European clubs.

On the other hand, the US is improving even more rapidly than Mexico, has gotten to where they are at in a very short amount of time, and have far more players in Europe than them. The World Cup will also probably go back to the US before it goes to Mexico for a third time, giving them a serious chance to win it. A toss up between the two.

Mexico have a better chance in the short term. It's not beyond the relm of possibility they could win 2010. US have a better long term chance.

Even better, they might try doing it together. Sort of like a super-country. I don't know if it would be fair to everyone else in the world though.

Thanks for the Canada props, but I would have to say T&T. Not based on ability.

I'm gonna go with Mexico the next time they host it. I don't know if that'll be in my lifetime, but I think that's the right answer.

The US will host it again before Mexico (or any other CONCACAF nation), but I don't think they'll be ready to win it by then.

uhh... that has more to do with the relatively strong financial state of the Mexican league than anything else. There would have been dozens of Mexicans in Europe even 20 years ago if MFL salaries weren't so high.

That wasn`t the point. The point is that as good as the FMF is, the EPL, Bundesliga, Primera Liga, etc. are better. And by keeping their top talent at home instead of letting them develop in the world`s best leagues, they hurt their national team in the long run, and give other nations(like the US, Honduras, etc.) that send their players there an edge over them.

I gotta say Mexico will win before any other team in COCACAF . Why? ..I'll say there are many reasons. And I'm talking about on a short period of time or a long period of time ,
Other than that U.S is the only second team to have a chance, the rest im afraid they have no chance , ask me 50 years from now I might be able to say which one.
