Which club do yall think has the best Rep in the US? I play for a club with a farely good rep through out the US (michigan wolves), but i was jus t wondering what yall thought. (my pick is CHicago Magic)
Young man, don't say that, you might have pokerjoe coming out of the woodwork telling you that none of the Magic's players would even be able to warm the bench of SoCal "powers" like the Nomads, Sharks, etc........ You see, if you didn't already know this, San Diego and SoCal are the hubs of the universe as it relates to youth soccer. The rest of the country is a soccer backwater playing glorified kickball. BTW, where exactly from Michigan are the Wolves?
Hmmmmmmm...... HAHA California can't touch the east coast. Fc Delco,Casa mia bays, New rochelle radiers, Bethesda SC, CASL, to name a few. Personally i dont think cali teams are that good. We wrecked Surf, Arsenal FC is pretty good thats all i know of. But the Wolves are from Michigan we pull players from all through out the state, we dont belong to just one city like (some back county SO call teams) haha Oh and CHicago Magic would more than likely wreck every single cali team there is......
I don't know if they would wreck them, but the Magic are certainly on par with ANYONE in the country. Two of my former HS players payed for them. BTW, there are also several other Chicago teams at that level, most notably the Soccers. Asked about Michigan because I lived there for a year.
no way is Scott Gallagher in there...it has to be FC Delco..that or Dallas Texans.(they might just seem bigger to me bc i am in Region III)
Son, I hope you realize that besides your parents and a few coaches, no one gives a rats-rectum which youth club is the best. Once you start playing for money, than people will care.
Welll according to the National soccer ranking website which I think can be seen as having no regional or other type of bias Dallas Taxans are ranked as the #1 club on both the boys and girls side. Not many clubs out there that are that strong on both the girls and boys side of things.
As a single region, Cal South is the strongest in the nation. However, there are so many clubs that the talent is spread out. I don't know other areas as well, but I guess that some clubs have a stranglehold on their area's talent. Like FC Delco or Colorado Rush. On the boys' side, I was perusing the Adidas ESP 2004 roster (150 invitees), and although there were clubs from all over the country, many of the players came from the usual suspects: Chicago Magic, FC Delco, CASL Elite, PDA Conquistadors, Nomads, So Cal United, Dallas Texans, Vardar, Irvine Strikers, Potomac Cougars. This is not necessarily representative of all age groups, but it does seem like this is a good sampling. Yeah, there are a lot of other strong clubs, and I apologize for not mentioning them.
I think the Dallas Texans are good because of the sheer number they have. North Texas soccer has always been good but almost every good player in North Texas plays for the Texans. The Dallas Texans did not do very well at Regionals this year. They only had 1 girls team make it to Nationals. The Klein Texans (Houston) had two boys teams go to the Nationals this year.
I'd Say Fc Delco, My team has played them before, and they are quite good. A team out here in Region has the talent to be #1 in the U.S, andare going to win nationals this year. Jr.Rhinos FYI
HAHA oww watch out we gotta tough guy in here i suppose. lol Well i suppose my question wasn't meant for you jack ass but thanks for your idiotic response.
Well now interesting question,I have 2 boys playing for Magic with very different experiences,Magic have a deserved reputation for putting strong teams on the field, how they put those teams together is another issue. Take Y League for example, players who played every game in qualifying were then dropped for the finals to make room for guest players from Michigan and Kansas. To my way of thinking Magic are all about winning and don't care for the players who are'nt on the A++ list..............
I have to agree here that Magic are all about winning without consideration for player development. I also know a number of players who found themselves in just the situation you mentioned with Y league where they played all the games up till the finals in Orlando and then were droped to make way for players from out of state.
I also recall the Magic losing to the Irvine Strikers 5-0 in the U-17 National Championship game two years ago.
lol you can make any thing swing in your way if you go back far enough. Haha thats just like me saying i remeber a game 4 years ago when U-18 MAGIC PUMPED nOMADS 4-0.... it's completely irrevant to the topic at hand haha. But i would have to agree with an early coment Magic deffentitly stack their team for certain fixtures instead of playing the kids who have stuck with them but might not be on the "national team" haha
How quickly we forget (or else we simply enjoy recycling topics ). Here's a link to Soccer America's article from February 2004 ranking the top 20 clubs for boys and girls http://www.socceramerica.com/article.asp?Art_ID=562134318 - their criteria attempt to balance the whole club, rather than the successes of 1 or 2 top teams.
Different clubs have wide ranges of how good each age division is year to year, so for someone to say that Nomads beat the Texans in such and such year by 3-0 is stupid becaue someone else could just pick another age group where the Texans beat the Nomads by 3-0. I think you should go by number of national championships won and/or regional championships won. Also, unless someone does an extensive search (if it is even possible) on head to head games of all the top clubs, no one is going to be able to say that overall, SoCal is better than FC Delco etc. Certain years there may be an FC Delco squad that crushes everyone, but the year younger FC Delco squad may not even make the semi's of the Region 1 Championships. It is hit or miss, I know from experience.
i coach club and highschool soccer in Michigan. Vardar has not only the best players but the best coaching in the region. As a previous poster mentioned, the talent is spread among the various clubs in SoCal, making for less dominant teams in a dominant region. Michigan as a region is not as dominant, Vardar, Wolves, Gators, BBSC etc. however Vardar is so dominant at the state level that every team in their club above u-14 age level plays Super-Y.
pshhhh..... Vardar is horribley overrated, in my opinion at least. Lets take a look at how their U-17 squad did at Disney as oppsed to the U-17 Michigan Wolves. Vardar participated in the lowest divison at disney and came out with 1 win and 2 loses. The Wolves played in the middle divison and won there bracket with 2 wins and a tie, and advanced to the semis. For a team with all the "best players" vardar's outcome was quite dissapointing haha. I think i've made my point, but maybe it wasn't there week.......
