Spill it - who do you have the most of? I think Elvis Costello and the Beatles are about tied. Next closest would be X, Nick Lowe and Van the Man Morrison.
I've got 41 Dave Matthews, 45 John Mayer, 25 Howie Day, then a lot of other acoustic folk guys like Ari Hest and Leo Kottke.
Im a homer so its Husker Du/Bob Mould/Sugar. Also lots of Replacements, REM, Elvis Costello, U2, and Cure.
I have countless Grateful Dead regular cd releases and live bootlegs. A close second would be the Black Crowes Phish or Gov't Mule. I seem to get more of the bands that allow taping of their shows and I used to be pretty heavy into trading.
Rage Against the Machine, I've got every single cd they've ever released and that include imports and the live ones. After them it's The Cure.
Of things I listen to now, probably Joy Division/New Order and Pink Floyd (I have every Floyd album save Ummagumma, plus Syd Barrett's solo work). Embarassingly enough, I have something like 15 Rush albums. I was a huge Rush fan in high school.
The only act with a substantial discography for which I have everything is The Beautiful South. But over the years I have owned more U2 stuff than anything else.
1. Led Zeppelin 2. Frank Sinatra 3. AC/DC 4. Miles Davis 5. BB King 6. The Rolling Stones 7. The Beatles 8. John Lee Hooker
Duran Duran and Sting (The Police included), I have pretty much everything of theirs including splinter groups and some solo cds
Stereolab (missing a few EPs, but otherwise own everything) Bill Frisell (own pretty much everything except for the most recent albums, but since he's the friggin' house band for NPR who needs to buy the albums anymore?) John McLaughlin
Metallica, by a mile. Then, there's also: U2 Led Zeppelin Enigma Pink Floyd Stevie Ray Vaughan Scorpions
1. pearl jam... i have no idea how many, but i can say that i have 11 cds of just video, although that doesnt' count the discs i still need to make to get stuff off my HD... can't do it though, the files are too big 2. pink floyd... most of their albums
The artists that I have a ton of CDs by are: Midnight Oil Phish Arvo Part John Tavener Philip Glass Steve Reich Tan Dun Gong Yi Bob Marley & the Wailers Fela Kuti & Africa '70 Vigilantes of Love Starflyer 59
Bob Dylan Smiths/Morrissey Phillip Glass Vigilantes of Love (for some reason I have 3 different versions of Audible sigh (but nothing afterwards cause they started downhill a bit) Mogwai
Beatles Springsteen Neil Young John Hiatt The Who Phish Grateful Dead I listed everything with ten or more. But if bands like Wilco, the Jayhawks, and Travis had 10 or more albums, I'd probably have them on the list, too.
