I don't remember seeing him get traded, but, if anyone has more information as to where Faria is and whether or not he'll be with MLS or the MetroStars, please share. He's not listed on the roster at MLSNET or MetroStars site.
It was part of the deal for the Metros to get Bradley. Metros got Bradley, Fire got Faria and a conditional draft pick on 2004. Still not cool. Bethany
Is Rodrigo Faria gone or not? The Metrofanatic home page says so. However, I have not seen any offical press report that says Faria is no longer a Metro. Faria was a favorite of ex-coach OZ. It will be interesting to see if Faria stays or not.
I suspect he is off practicing missing sitters some where. Personally, I could care less what happens to him.
Diallo? We traded for him??? Oh man! I can't believe it! What's next? Tab retiring and then trading either Petke or Jolley for Richie Williams?
Faria played hard, that's the best thing I can say about him. Of course he also missed what seemed like 2 dozen sitters and for a player who has only been in the league for 2 seasons, he looked like a seasoned pro while berating the refs last season. If he spent more time focusing on his shots and less time yelling at refs/crying about bad calls, he would have scored as much as Twellman and Ruiz.
We also sold Diallo, so are only forwards left are Mathis and Jaime Moreno....... and of course Alvarez.... doesn't look to good
I posted the same thing about DIallo on the MLS board but some people say that he wasn't dropped by his Saudi team and that it was just misinformation. Oh well, who the frag cares as long as he's not on Metro.
diallo is still playing from what i gather. faria is a fire player. and the metros have no front line backups. this should be interesting... abmod up top. thats is if he is still there when the season starts.
I responded with "the hot news" because people are still posting about his whereabouts. Why the sarcasm? More comments on this in the following posting...
The Diallo story I saw was reported in the New York Times. If it was "misinformation" than the Times was duped. Granted, we're not talking about World Soccer magazine. All the news that's fit to print doesn't include a hell of a lot about soccer. And I'm sure it's not the first occasion in which the Times has been duped. But who would be spreading this "misinformation?" The Saudi government? Perhaps they're ashamed to have him playing in their league.
