For those of you that have looked into season tickets for the Galaxy at the Home Depot Center, where would you sit given the fact I dont' want to drop the cash on the Club seats but would consider sideline and below ($) as feasible?

More specifically, closest to midfield on the west side (excluding club) or at midfield on the east side? Are the amenities basically the same...parking access, sun, crowd enthusiasm, etc. ?

Higher versus lower...appears there are 24 rows...

I haven't watched a match in a "soccer" specifically designed stadium in quite some time...just converted baseball fields ...Wrigley...showing some age :(

I would appreciate any and all input as I intend to pull the trigger on Monday!

Any insight to what influenced your buying decisions would be great !

    Thanks in advance...

    Papa

    Welcome chicagopapa…

I my case I had to balance cost, view and location, and decided on the upper deck. The drawback is that you are not at field level, but you have a chance to sit at midfield for a better price then the club seats.

If you're not able to stand in the corner section with the LA Riot Squad, which would be best. I agree that from a viewing standpoint, seats in the middle of the upper deck would be great. You'll be a few feet above those paying a whole lot more and get a better view than some of them will that are too close.
From all I've heard, every seat in the house will be good.
It's also a personal thing too. Some prefer to be as close to the players as possible even though that makes it a little more difficult to see "spread" of the players.
BTW: I'm not sure yet if the upper deck will or will not be bleachers. Maybe someone who has visited knows. From the pics it appears they may be but I'm not positive. Just in case that means something to your decision.

    Thanks...

I'm not sure if you know, but the seats originally designated as club seats on the east side...are no longer...hint, hint ! These ARE at field level on the east side. In other words, the same viewing aspect from the east side as you would get from the west side in club at half the cost...not the upper deck !

    I didn't tell you that !!!!

I figured that someone from the "Squad" would check in which is all good. I'm just looking to get my feet wet this year with good seats where I do have more of a perspective of the "spread" as 'wolves' describes!

    'Til then,

    Papa

I just got some more Info. on seat selection from the Galaxy. They are stating that the Upper Deck will be bench seats/bleachers with backs.

I AM NOT HAPPY AT ALL TO BE PAYING $450 FOR BLEACHERS. THAT SUCKS BIG TIME.

Yeah, I just received the seat selection questionaire and was not happy about the benches with backs. But oh well, its far better then not having Victoria Street!

As for the Riot Squad, I agree that sittng with them would be great, but I will be taking my 7 year old son, so...

    Seating !!!!

    6 Choices :

1.) Next to Soccermom, with her 2 daughters ages 12 and 14, along with 1 son age 7. Sitting there listening to her children explain finer points of soccer to her, all the while loud and obnoxious latin fans are constantly cheering and drinking beer. Soccermom grows anxious and fearful as she already has 91 pressed into the cell phone, if lunatic drum beating fanatics and Alcohol ridden socio-economically deficient latinos become uncontrolable the other "1" will be pressed... that's when Black or African American Security personnel are called into action to protect the white woman, from indecent soccer-fan.

2.) Drunk guy donning Ruiz or Lalas Galaxy Home jersey wearing gas mask !! who's entire day consisted of eating burritos and waiting for that 60th minute tradition with his other cohorts, who can piss farther than i can puke contest.

3.) Movie theatre audience member person, usually consisting of people who look around amazed at the behavior of the other patrons at this event, they usually say nothing, do nothing, add nothing, subtract nothing to the match. and are just basic filler so the place doesnt seem so empty.

4.) Crazy Soccerdad, brought the kids who look at him in embarassment. He in my opinion is half cool, half idiot, but none the less fun. Yells, screams, gets excited.. high fives everyone he can, and is usually asleep by the time sigi is calling in subs for Ruiz.

5.) Trendy White dude, Usually wears Galaxy gear to game, probably to bed. He is prominent at most matches and can be spotted by use of cell phone during match, brought the girlfriend who seems utterly bored to be there, has friends with him at game who look like they should be running a video store or local starbucks.

6.) Lastly, lation fan... no offense black fan, i am sure you are there just not enough to have your own charectorization. But Latino fan is usually well into the game, knows the finer points, doesnt mind expressing this during the match in spanish... usually elaborating with catchy terms as " pinche' cerrote' or pinche gringo!! " usually directed at Danny Califf and this is ok. But Latino fan usually cordoned off and grouped together carrying banners or signs. If you should choose to be seated in their section expect a more secure, and more closely watched experience.

It shall be interesting to see how the new stadium will cater to all our seating preferences.

so many choices, which one is best?

Actually, they are probably just as happy you didn't "characterize" them with the same sterotypical insights you used on others. Do you have any concept of how offensive this post is?

Dude...what is your major malfunction?? A little hint..if you begin a sentence with "no offense, (insert ethnicity here)..." it is offensive...Do us all a favor and go talk to a few Riot Squad members like this the next time the Gals fall behind in a match. Preferably against San Jose

    Midwest, the real one.
TequilaJoal, unlike some of the ultra-sensitive posters here, I cannot find anything offensive in your post. The stereotypes that you have created seem to be based on first-hand observation, rather than traditional social prejudices. It is nice to see that some of us can celebrate the rainbow of cultures and classes within our country, without fear of ridicule from those protecting the fragile emotions of a hypothetical third party.

Sure, it is unfair to define individuals by the group that they seem to belong to, for each person is unique and not beholden to the characteristics of that group. But I think it is safe to say that fairness can be ignored momentarily for a lighthearted foray into humor.

Comedy, after all, is usually based upon truth. The best comedians are masters at articulating those fleeting thoughts that we all have, yet never have the creativity to discuss in a proper manner. This is why audience members often nod in agreement with an act that they are enjoying.

Anyone who has attended a soccer match, or any sporting event, has noticed the differences among attendees and how they react to one another. If they haven't, they are either lying or are one of the drunk guys eating burritos.

No offense, differing posters, but thank you for your honesty, TJ.

I would have been more impressed with TJ's satirical powers if he could have found the humor in EVERY group rather than settling for making all the rest of us have to choose whether to laugh at ourselves or take offense. So high marks for lampooning the rest of us but I'm truly sorry for you if you really believe that Latino fans are the only ones capable of enjoying/understanding the game properly.

TJ, you forgot the latinos who spend the entire match ignoring what's happening on the pitch so they can cat call some hot chick walking the sidelines. ;)

    To Answer The Critics

    I appreciate all your support.

    individually speaking :
    -------------------------------------------------

stopper - I think there should be hundreds if not thousands of more Riot Squad Members.

The Cadaver - If you are Black or Latino then i might understand. But if you are White and feeling a little guilty cause you smirked after reading my post, and you feel you need to distance yourself from someone with the PC Pole... well get over it, it's just a joke.

roksteady - I didn't really forget about asians, they just have not been a significant group of Galaxy fans, but i look forward to their exploits this coming season.

Treetaliano - No malfunction...... Dude !! Tree dont worry i am gonna buy a Dell, so dont put me on your list unless it's for " Peoples 25 sexiest " or the guest list to get into SKY BAR.

Blong - I can dig the backup. You seem to have caught the Vibe i was throwing down, too bad your not a Galaxy Fan though. Speaking of blong's where is mine?

Gooner - Don't quit that critics gig @ the L.A. Weekly. Hey look at Rick Davis he's not Latino and he knows the finer points of soccer, oh wait, i'm sorry thats right he's a Robot. Shyt !!

PZ - how could i forget latino cat call fan, now he is very special and extremely important to the Galaxy organization. If it weren't for him diverting my and probably the referee's attention who knows, Danny Califf might have more red cards and given up a few more penalty's last year. Although I question Cat Call Fan's judgement sometimes, the ole' cerveza has a way of playing tricks on yer eyes. if ya know what i mean.

SObearCAL - I have seen you at the Galaxy Games you-low brow-Juan Valdes impersonating-Colombian Coffee pickin-Latte Hustlin Pimp !! Oh by the way, How's your Wife ?

    ----------------------------------------------

I think we can all agree that we dont want to sit next to Soccermom. So I Blame Soccerdad, Soccerboyfriend, and SoccerLesbiangirlfriend.. for putting all of us in Jeopardy because Soccermom is uptight from the incredible lack of sex.

    FOR SHAME ON YOU !!

No offense taken. Just profile me with those drunken singing fools known as the Riot Squad. I think Asian fans could fall into any of those groups you've profiled, but I mainly see them as SoccerMoms or Movie-Goers.

How come "profiling" is OK when TJ does it, but not such a good thing when the LAPD does it?
