I saw that he was on the bench. Is he injured or something? He's to good to ride the pine.

3 games in 8 days is not a pace he can be expected to play at his age. Sigi wisely resting him, hopefully for NY game rather than Necaxa.

I seriously hope he's being rested and being made the scape goat for last Wednesday's debacle against Necaxa.

I'm sure that was very unbiased opinion and had nothing to do with the fact you are Italian and that Italia lost to Hong's team in WC 2002 in Korea.

Nope, it probably isn't. The two games I've seen him play he was pretty much average at best.

I'm still a little dumbfounded how one of the WC best 11 Defenders last summer can't get the starting job in LA?

    Califf- RB
    Bo- CD
    Lalas- CD
    Marshall- LB

To bad we're running with 3 backs.

He had one good pass in 180 minutes of football.

He looks confused by the speed out there, and is usually to always outta position to play defense.

Some of you guys have little, if no patience. It's a good thing that some of you have nothing more than access to the controller of a PS2 playing FIFA 2003. ;)

Hong Myung-Bo is most likely getting some rest, if anything is to be made of why he was on the bench this past Saturday against the Burn. One should keep in mind that he is the new guy to the squad, despite all the experience he has from the club and national level. Give him time to find his niche with this squad, and all the experience he has will begin to show on the field.

You guys aren't running with three backs, at least not for most of the game on Saturday. After 20 minutes, Sigi made a tactical change, pushing Ezra back and Calfiff into the middle, for a 4 back set. He also switched sides with Ruiz so that he would mark against Suarez instead of Morrow. Those two changes were the reason LA got the tie.

In my opinion, Califf is not effective as a right back, and Lalas is not quick enough to run the middle by himself.

Because he's got 4 inches of girth, twice that of any man in Korea. :D

I agree with the captain and I've said it before on another site. We have too many Central Defenders.

Califf is a CD, as are Lalas and Bo. If you go with experience, I can see Lalas playing stopper and Bo sweeping but can Lalas get back quickly enough when the ball gets behind him.

Maybe it wouldn't be a problem if we had serious speed back there, but we don't. If Califf is playing RB, he is too slow in my opinion. And Marshall isn't exactly a burner, either.

It just seems like a problem. But I have a lot of confidence in Hong. I think he can get the hang of d-mid and help the G's. (Hmmmm.....I hope so)
