I'm in town next week covering Dallas Cup, staying near the U of Texas at Dallas campus. Where is a good place, say within 30 minutes drive of there, to watch MLS matches Saturday and Sunday. Is there any soccer bar per se, or any place that can get Fox Sports World on for you? Thanks for any help.

The best bet closest to where you will be staying is "The Fox and Hound" that is located in the shopping plaza at the NW corner of Central (also known as 75) and Campbell. It is about a 5 minute drive, but it is too far to walk. The places is huge. They must have close to 50 big screens, and FSW programming is a regular staple during the week. I have not been there on a weekend. I am not sure if they carry the MLS shootout package, but I am pretty sure that they can be talked into it given that it would pay for itself with one or two bar tabs. Other places that are within 30 minutes of where you will be staying are Ben's Half Yard House (Greenville Ave between Park Ln and Walnut Hill Ln), and the Londoner (Midway and Beltline)
HEHE, good idea bigtoga! Actually, places that get the Setanta feed for one Old Firm team typically get it for both. So that may be ideal. I'll just have to clench my teeth and grab my seat when Rangers score. I'm interested in those matches as well as any place that has the Shootout package. I suppose I may be wishing for too much if it's not known as a soccer place, for them to put that on on a Saturday night vs playoff hockey, basketball or baseball, but sounds like I can catch the morning games there at least.
