Those don't seem rigid enough to wave a 3x5 flag, no?

I mean I'd prefer a normal flagpole but I don't even want to think about it till DC has its own stadium where they hopefully have a bigger say in policies. :)

Many years ago I had a nifty little system for a breakdown flag pole for one of similar size to Vlad's. Basically, I took four sections of 1.5 ft 1/2" pvc tubing and carried three 1/2" (id) simple unions in my pocket. Now, you can put the plastic in your sock under jeans, but I stopped bringing it in post 9-11 due to common sense. My ready-made excuse if I ever got frisked was going to be either it was a brace or drum sticks (as I did carry a few drums in back in the day).

In retrospect, the 1/2" pvc was thicker than necessary. You could use something considerably thinner, if you can find it. I got all my supplies at Lowes back in the day, but I'm sure any big box hardware will have plenty of pvc to choose from. To cut it, just use a hack saw or, if you are desparate, any sort of saw with knarly teeth.

    Cheers,
    Tim

yea I might end up with one of my old antenas, that's what Vlad used :) pointers just seemed sturdier for some reason.

I have no idea why they'd have problem with flagpoles, but that's a different topic (then again I find pyro harmless too)

For a second I thought Srdan was looking for telescopic rifle scopes:
