Guess I'll be rooting for Stoke these days. I like both players.

Yeah I really doubt they'd play two defensive minded midfielders.

In a perfect world this allows Geoff to play CB and Mo DMid. In reality it could cost one his spot on our NT. Good club move for Mo though. I don't find much reason to complain the better represented we are in the EPL. Helps with others getting WP's.

So I guess Cameron and Edu might develop a nice partnership 10-15 yards in front of where they'll partner up for the USMNT.

I like it. If they both get good playing time at Stoke they will continue to get good time on the USMNT.

It would be great if Edu joins Stoke

Knock on wood. Best of luck to Edu.

Would be most curious if Edu bumps Cameron out of a regular starting spot. Hopefully they will both play, and build a connection that also works for the US nats.

with all the matches in epl, there is plenty of time for both, and the top half of the epl, being defensively paired is a good test abd trining for them

This isn't official yet, so I'm moving to US Men. Plus, to avoid overlap between the forums, we've already got an Edu thread going over in YA if y'all would like to discuss his club career.

How bout locking it down all together until an actual move is made?

Well, we would if this were YA, for sure. But since it's US Men, which is intended for a bit more of a free-flowing fan discussion, we can leave it open so people can obsess about analyze this potential move in the light of Edu's national team career. We tend not to close threads in US Men (unless they're problematic), and if the move doesn't pan out this will fall out of sight on its own...

Along these lines, the Midlands reporter for the Telegraph has tweeted that Stoke are not interested in Mo (at least that's how I read his tweet, it wasn't the most clearly worded).

Then at least change it to an overall 'rumors' or "Where to, Edu?' The Stoke one sounds as definite as the Bradley to Roma one.

You need to watch Stoke player more then :D .

Edu fits perfectly into the Stoke mentality which is really focused on physicality. Edu's strong points are his tackling and heading something that Stoke like to use. His main competition for the central midfield positions are Cameron, Palacios, Whitehead and Whelan. Delap is old and past it. Palacios is a very similar to Maurice, both very physical but offer very little going forward. Would be interesting to see them both at Stoke.

Apparently, Ipswich denied making a bid for Edu per Ives

It's all about him getting into a situation where he can get PT.

He is a good fit for Stoke. I think he has the physical tools to survive the Prem.

A new challenge for his club career to play at this high of a level.
