Yeah, I know there are loads of places selling US jerseys but I urgently need a WC '02 replica jersey with 'Donovan' and '21' on the back. Neither ussoccer or bigsoccer do this. Any suggestions? Cheers.
Thanks for the suggestion but I've seen these jerseys before. They ship from Bangkok and the quality is shite. Plus I need it in 3 days.
Hey, Superlimey -- hope all's well with you. www.soccerplus.net will personalize both white and blue US jerseys. The "Pope 23" one I wore at the World Cup came from them. They're generally very quick on shipping and I think you can get it sent overnight through them. I don't know if you're looking for Donovan's current look, or what he wore at the World Cup, but FYI, Donovan has worn #10 the past three games.
I second that. I've dealt with Soccer Plus both ordering on line and in person (having driven down to Pasadena to get EPL lettering on a West Brom shirt) and they're class. Joseph (one of the guys pictured on the site) is not necessarily the friendliest guy in the world, but when it comes to official replica shirts with the correct style of lettering, he'll try to get you what you're looking for in a timely manner.
Hey Atouk me old china, how's it going? Cheers for the info, I was trying to remember the name of that place (I got my Mathis jersey there but I've got a memory like a sieve). I was tempted to go for the #10 but everyone and their dog'll have one of those soon so I'll stick with the highly successful WC02 #21.
if you click on the new items link on the homepage, it shows you a collage of items. one of which is an old clash pin. how vintage.
They should really think about redesigning their website. Without the great endorsements, I would worry about their professionalism and reliability just from visiting....just a note.
Well, unlike Eurosport, Kitbag, Soccerstore etc. (and I've ordered from both of those folks as well), Soccer Plus is just a local soccer shop in Pasadena (a relatively small store) that goes after Internet sales. What they've got in stock is what they sell; they order out of the Nike, Umbro etc. wholesale catalogs like any local shop. But the reason I've gone with Soccer Plus many times is the lettering. I once ordered a Claudio Reyna US jersey from Soccerstore.com; the numbers were fine, but the letters they used for "Reyna" didn't look like the on-field ones. Soccer Plus not only has the English lettering & numbers (like a lot of places) but I've also seen them do decent jobs with Scottish Premier, Primera Liga and certain Bundesliga teams as well. The last time I was there, I saw them customizing a Nakata Japan jersey with the style of letters & numbers that are used on Adidas shirts.
Bangkhok Shirts To the guy who said the USA jerseys are shite, I can tell you I just got mine in the mail today and it's the exact same thing you buy from the Nike Store in Portland for $65. Buy on EBay, it's the best way to go.
Thai shirt Thai food = good, Thai replica shirt = crap. If you got your usa shirt from Thailand, I have a really tough time believing it's even comparable to the real thing. And even if you think it is, it's very hit and miss with the Thai sellers on ebay. BUY THE REAL THING.
I've made the mistake of buying those shirts on eBay that say "Shipping from Thailand." Even some that say they are selling official shirts will send you a clever fake. I have a collection of obviously fake shirts that cost me on average $24 bucks each... I've sworn off bidding on auctions from Southeast Asia. Yes, companies like Nike and Umbro have shirts made in Asia, but there is an obvious difference in quality. It's easy to tell the difference between a fake and the genuine article, not only by the fabric, but the presence of/ lack of interior tagging.
i agree. there are two tiers to fakes: one that is so poor that it is blatantly obvious upon first glance. Then there are those fakes which looks good from a distance but nonetheless are of inferior quality. Stick with the real stuff. You can get Nike and Adidas official replica w/o name or number for anywhere from 60-65 bucks. Not everyone sells them for this, but 5 mins on google will let you find them. I've been to Soccerplus in person as well and the best thing about the store is the printing...all the styles you could ever want. His prices do however sometimes leave something to be desired. One guy I really like is John Collins who owns soccerbox.com in England. His service is excellent which cannot be said of other UK based stores (i.e. Toffs, what a bunch of morons they are) and he does most printing styles (of course EPL and SPL). Additionally, his shipping charges for a single jersey are only about 5 dollars airmail (5-10 days...east coast-west coast). His website is somewhat amateur-like, but the service, goods, and prices are first class. Anyways, good guy to remember.
thanx for the link!!! they have the kit I have been looking for!! http://www.soccerplus.net/arsenal00homels.htm
I got a real FC Bayern replica from thailand for $10, so I guess it varies. Great when it comes in the mail though. The mailman holds up a crumpled brown package with about 50 stamps on it and says "Package from Thailand" meanwhile you know he's thinking, 'Better get out of here before it blows up.'
I guess it does vary but I guarantee that about 75% of that stuff is real crap. Yes, there are some that look real good, but if you get it, you'll definitely know. If you think you've been duped, I've noticed that the fake Nike's don't have the manufacturers tag on the bottom inside of the jersey.
