There is an indoor arena here in Albuquerque, iirc, khriry shelton showed up for a couple games. Apparently had some family in town and just wanted to play a bit. By all accounts he took it easy and didn’t shoot just passing the ball around. Kids just like to play, that’s good to see.
Weah is good friends with Josh Sargent right? We have the Pulisic/McKennie bromance. Let's keep it coming It's great we have so many youth guys coming up. I recall reading Howard/Bocanegra/Rimando were part of the same youth group as well as the u-17 guys (Donovan, Beasley, Gooch, Beckerman).
This is great. We need some personalities and this kid seems to have heart and soul. I like the cut of his jib (is that a saying or am I getting it wrong?)
Makes me think of a story I recently read by an Italian journalist from Pisa, talking about Diego Simeone's early years in Italy playing for that club (1990–92). El Cholo apparently brought his parents over there to live with him and his dad and the journalist regularly played together in pickup games in town. Apparently on one occasion Simeone himself joined in, but they had to keep it in total secrecy, since it would have gotten him in huge trouble with the club had the word got out.
All the more reason to keep the poisonous 'old guards' off the roster. Bring in Jozy, and you can kiss that Sargent/Weah bromance good bye. Introduce Bradley, and that Pulisic/McKennie duo goes right down the toilet.
I disagree, I don't think that's really how friendships/chemistry on the field works... If you're talking about swapping Jozy for Sargent and Bradley for Mckennie on the roster I can see where you're coming from, but adding one player doesn't usually ruin the relationship between two other players.
Speaking of treating a guest player with kid gloves, I used to play pickup basketball games with Roy Jones Jr. He was the undisputed pound-for-pound best boxer in the world at the time so I took great care not to foul him too hard.
IIRC, Steve Nash used to play regularly in summer soccer leagues (in NYC?) when he was an active NBA player. Don't recall whether his brother joined him.
As an ESL teacher, I can assure you that you have that 100% correct. It's an old nautical saying IIRC.

Might be a good idea once the fans' wounds actually heal. For now they are basically the poster boys for American soccer in 2018. And that's not a positive thing. So it's like you get three free balls to throw at the dunk tank.
There’s always been a divide in this forum for gratuitous national team talk. That’s been obliterated here.
I don't know. I think it's good for young players to go into preseason with the attitude that they're going to win significant minutes with their team. When/if it becomes apparent that that isn't going to happen, it's the responsibility of the manager and the player's agent (and maybe his dad in this case) to talk them into going on loan.
Julian Green wasted too much of his young career hanging out with the cool kids at Bayern Munich. I just hope Weah doesn’t make the same mistake.
Maybe I've missed something, but I can't recall anyone ever questioning his Americanness. The closest I recall is people wondering if he might play for another country since he has several citizenships (still not questioning if he's a "real" American though).
Well, I asked him to play for the USMNT in FM18 and he said he wanted to play for France so I definitely questioned his Americanness then.
