🎙 La réaction du double buteur du soir, Timothy Weah, après #LOSCSRFC ⤵ pic.twitter.com/4QkYqHf2e4— LOSC (@losclive) May 21, 2022
Ended up with a pretty decent season after a rocky start and mid-season injury issues. 90+ in last 6 games. ~1900 mins overall. Some CL play... not terrible for a 22 yo. Could have scored more. Hope he stays healthy and gets a good run of starts next season. He had 20 starts in all comps, I think, which isn't terrible, but wouldn't hurt for him to have a season as more regular squad-member, esp in league.
Maybe it's a mental thing and they need to be playing for nothing for him to feel well enough to do his best.
I think Weah plays far better as the RWM in that 4-4-2 they play. He really does well in the space on the outside right with his pace and crosses. Almost had an assist in the 70th minute to the old man with a perfect cross. At any rate, really happy he finished off the season strong. I hope he rides that momentum into June and beyond.

I knew that was a tasty cross that Yilmaz wasted when was watching live. Seen a lot of should be assists from Timmy this season.

I can't believe no one responded to this post at the time, but I have to say it --- No, actually it was a but. Ba dum bum!
Sounds like Paulo Fonseca will be the next Lille coach. I didn’t even know they were looking. Lille are in advanced talks with Paulo Fonseca as new manager. There are still some details to discuss but the agreement is now getting closer and closer. 🔴🇵🇹 #LilleFonseca is tempted by this chance, Lille are on it.— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 10, 2022
Fonseca's record as a coach isn't particularly outstanding but it is interesting He's coached Porto - won the Super Cup (good) but was fired after 8 months (not good) Braga - won the Cup (very good), 4th place (expected) and EL quarters (good) Shaktar - won 3 titles, including 2 league & cup doubles (good, but expected) Roma - finished 5th (decent) and then reached the EL semis (very good) before quitting at the end of the season (unusual) Since then he's been linked to the Spurs and Newcastle jobs, as well as Aston Villa. At 49, he's probably looking for a project where he can put his stamp on a team before moving to one of the big coaching gigs so this could be a very good move for him. As for Tim, he's attack-minded (which is why he was linked to the Newcastle job in particular) and isn't afraid to switch formations, although he does prefer the modern 4-2-3-1. There should be plenty of PT opportunities there.
He also was offered and turned down the ATL UTD job last year: https://www.dirtysouthsoccer.com/20...ca-reportedly-turns-down-atlanta-united-offer
Loan rumor: Valencia are reportedly looking to bring USMNT's Timothy Weah on loan from Lille with an obligation to buy, per L’Équipe. 👀 pic.twitter.com/Rp0FgjeWZP— CBS Sports Golazo ⚽️ (@CBSSportsGolazo) June 15, 2022
Valencia has been in free fall for a while. They are a mess and aren’t the Valencia of old, progressing deep into the CL year after year. In the last 7 seasons, they have finished 12th, 12th, 4th, 4th, 9th, 12th and 9th last season. Their owner Peter Lim have overpromised and oversold improvement and has pretty much refused to put much money back into the club. The club is in a poor financial state. Supporters are pissed. Towards the end of last season - twice - fans refused to enter the stadium, choosing to protest outside the stadium during matches. There were 6-7K inside and 25-30K outside protesting. It was wild. There are some crazy imagines out there. As long as Lim is the owner, I have a feeling it will continue to plummet. I think the hiring of Gennaro Gattuso is a step in the right direction but there’s been zero stability in management. I want to say they’ve had 12 managers in the last 6 seasons. I’m not saying all avoid Valencia at all costs. These are just some red flags. But if I were Weah, there would have to be major assurances that things will change - for the positive - before I signed on the dotted line. Lille OSC are undergoing a similar path with their owner so I think Weah would have an idea of questions to ask before agreeing to anything.
