Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but Canada's Johnathan David is probably signing with Lille if Gent don't stand in the way of the deal. The club made a pretty substantial offer for him (€25m), and David has already said he wants to join the club, but apparently Gent are holding out for more money (€30m). https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2020/gent-attacker-jonathan-david-i-want-to-play-for-lille/
Good to see Tim out there -- even if in a six-second clip. Oh no he didn't 😲 ! That's a bullseye for Tim #Weah 🎯. #USMNT pic.twitter.com/4kK04Ne8Iy— LOSC (@LOSC_EN) July 22, 2020
For anyone interested, skip to 10:35 to hear him speak about his injury struggles. Apparently he tore his hamstring 3 times, and didn't get surgery on it until the 3rd time.
Well that was a mistake on his part and yet I feel much better that he finally got the surgery and not had it rip twice over after being fixed. Hopefully the repair does it's job and he's good to go when France starts up.
You're expecting a teenager to know if he should or shouldn't get surgery? That's not his mistake. That's a mistake from his representation and advisors - assuming that was even a mistake in the first place.

Tenorio - ‘I’m going to conquer it’: Timothy Weah’s goals remain after a year of injuries Prognosis on the hamstring: Berhalter comments: https://theathletic.com/1960517/202...-weahs-goals-remain-after-a-year-of-injuries/
I don't want to be too negative but IMO having a surgery on the hamstring at his age does not bode well for his future fitness and explosiveness.
It just means he isn't going to get more explosive and that his degradation will happen sooner. He's likely got a good 5+ years IMO if the surgery and rehab went well.
It's actually a worse sign at such a young age when injuries are more rare. It could suggest that his muscles do not have what it takes for the professional level long term.
At least he would have had ages 20 - 25 without nasty injuries.. those are pretty prime years for a speedy attacker... I'd probably take those 5 years of high quality play.. careers are a crap shoot but I don't feel too strongly either way.
Great news! (Returned to training w/ the team) Après de longues semaines de travail intense, Tim Weah a repris avec le groupe aujourd’hui 🤜🤛 pic.twitter.com/B1uxpdpmsc— LOSC (@losclive) August 3, 2020
