That's shocking but great news on paper. I thought he was done for the rest of the year. Maybe he should be as a precaution. It's good to know he's physically able to play already, but it's so soon, raising risk of re-injury, which happened last time when they were more careful even.
Was reported done for the rest of the season, which would’ve been over by now so it makes sense. Unless you read somewhere he was out for the rest of 2020 calendar year?
""Hopefully" we can have him back for the start of next season" for a mid August date. And it was very optimistic considering he was out 6 months the first time, and the aggravation is typically longer. But this time he's back in 4 months. So amazing recovery, but concerning at the same time they may be pushing it. We'll find out.
Yeah their season is over, so if he just spends the next two months training and making sure he's fully healthy and ready to go, then that's great! No pressure to be match fit for two months or more.
https://www.lepetitlillois.com/2020/06/10/yusuf-yazici-et-timothy-weah-de-retour-a-lille/ The referenced source says that he is back in Lille to resume his medical care with the team. It does not say that he has returned from injury.
It seems like the lower halves of our most important USMNT players or future players seem to be massively dysfunctional. Hamstrings, groins, knees, etc. It's just one after the other and they don't seem to be able to recover quickly or in many instances regain their previous ability. Is it just bad luck in our all too shallow player pool, all too common in all soccer players, or something else?
A combination of those injuries being highly prevalent in soccer, a small sample size, shallow player pool, and bad luck, I'd bet.
Want America to be bad at the world's game so to regain pride they consent to invade to invade those countries for oil.
This kid has unreal potential. In case anyone has become jaded on Timothy Weah, here's his performance against Ecuador in last year's U20 WC. One guy that absolutely deserved to go through to the semis. pic.twitter.com/L4D2V1Qble— CONCACAF NATIONS LEAGUE STAN (@JordanDunathan) July 22, 2020
At 0:20 of the video or 1:59 on the video count down clock, he does a jumping Neymar, then all in one motion proceeds to one touch with the outside of the foot to a player going forward. Bubble wrap this kid.
I love Timo and as a USMNT fan first and foremost I really hope he gets healthy again fast. He does have all the potential in the world. He's one of those guys though who does the absolute world class highlight reel stuff but it's intermixed with some real inconsistent play also. He needs to get more game reps and it is a shame that he lost a year at such a pivotal point. You can't teach what he can do however, it is a rare gift, and he can always tighten up his game and become more consistent. I'm looking forward to seeing him play again.
One of Lille’s main attackers, Victor Osimneh has transferred to Napoli. Looks like it will be done soon according to reports.
