and to think, he used to be a lincoln city red imp!!!
    go imps!!! :)
strange to think he wonders what would have happened if he'd stayed with wednesday instead of coming to MLS. the answer's pretty obvious: instead of riding a championship team, he'd be free-falling down the table with the rest of the owls.

not to my knowledge, but there's no real reason i'm right about that. he could have figured in a loan for a while...

Yup, I distinctly remember him being a bench warmer for QPR after the Quakes waived him. He was rostered for 2 months or so and subbed in late in about 3-4 matches.

All i found was this: Manuel (Junior) Agogo, forward, from QPR (non-contract) and San Jose Earthquakes

It was part of a transfer list.

Crap. Was Agogo that bad or is MLS that bad? Nationwide Conference!

Who knew he would go to England and play in front of 1,800 fans, thus longing for the roar of the 10,000 at Spartan.

    Fixed your post. ;)

Defender, I think you ask an interesting question. I believe there is such a disparity in talent in MLS between the best players and the worst that the BEST could perhaps play in the Premiership (definitely in the First Division) while the WORST are on par with the talent in the Nationwide Conference. And, while Agogo wasn't the worst player in MLS, he wasn't in the upper echelon either.

"Where the heck is Junior Agogo?" Everyone should know the answer to that question. He's hangin' out in some pub somewhere.

hey.....maybe we can get Junior back here....he's better than Barclay or DeRo, and he is probably willing to take alot less now that he has been humbled a bit.

So a guy who spends too much time in the pub is a replacement for a guy who spends too much time diving on the grass?

I saw AGOGO on the FSW Report ticker scores today. I am glad to see he is playing at least.
I was very impressed with his potential while playing in the MLS for Colorado and San Jose.
He had great speed and some good moves, just lacked concentration. I will miss Junior, but think that he must prefer life in England.

    Thanks for the thread.

Re: Re: Where the heck is Junior Agogo

aww, crumb, everton fan: i take umbrage at that. in a clearly machiavellian attempt to wrest the funniest-post-in-thread crown from LDB, here goes:

eemmm.....OK: guy walks into bar with a tiny leprechaun on his shoulder. he orders a beer, and when the barkeep delivers it, the leprechaun jumps off the guy's shoulder, runs up 'n' down the length of the bar, knocking over beers, kicking up bowls of peanuts and pretzels, then re-takes his original spot, perched atop the guy's shoulder. the patrons are understandably bemused by this, but quickly regain their imbibing form. 15 minutes later, the guy orders ANOTHER beer. (wait for it!) "when the barkeep delivers it, the leprechaun jumps off the guy's shoulder, runs up 'n' down the length of the bar, knocking over beers, kicking up bowls of peanuts and pretzels, then re-takes his original spot, perched atop the guy's shoulder."
when it came time for the guy to order his THIRD beer, the barkeep was suspicious...."what the hell is the deal with that leprechaun?!?!?" the guy replied "well, i happened upon a magic lantern a few weeks ago. after freeing the genie, he told me i was entitled to three wishes. for my first, i wished for the finest car in all the land. go on and see for yourself: that'd be MY mercedes in the parking lot. for my second, i wished for 10 million dollars. i've got my bank statements right here in my pocket; it's all legit, i'm a multi-millionaire."
"alright then," said the barkeep, "what did you choose for wish number three?"
the guy sighed heavily, pointed at the leprechaun on his shoulder, and replied "a ten-inch prick."

oh heck, i tried...... :) you win, LDB!!

I'd think we could give him another look? I'm not sure how he's doing overseas though.

Sounds like a good idea. It'll cost us a keg every week, though.
