I am sure that EtH would have wanted to sub off the whole team at the time of the RED card.

Yet he wouldn't even sub on Taylor who hasn't got his debut. Leaves a bit of a sour taste in my mouth the way Ten Hag handled the whole situation

Any thoughts on whether Gravenberch has done enough to be called up for NT.

If Strootman can be called up, so can Gravenberch.

  5. Let's reserve Orange selection to players who consistently perform on a good + level, or have proven their worth for a long time. Gravenberg is instable as hell in performance. He was rated by almost all publications a 4-4.5 for his match against FC Groningen. To be selected he has to perform 6 or above level, not going through the floor in one match and through the roof in another. On top of that I dunno what they have put in the tea of the VVV team, but that was beyond bad. It wasnot that Gravenberg played good, it was VVV didnot show up at all. VVV didnot collapse out of brilliant play of among others Gravenberg, but out of their own suckiness.

It is a strange situation with him. He is out of contract in June and Raiola is his agent. He's pretty much the same type of striker as Traore. Give their closeness in age, I'm not sure that there is room for both of them.

Same tea you got in the memorable game against PSV, with a similar result.

  11. Nope, I remember that match very well as it was the day before my birthday.
They were behind 3-0 and the players decided to throw everything on the attack in an attempt to comeback into the match with a goal and from there to try to get out a draw. That wasnot a smart move as they also abandoned defending and PSV killed them on the counter and with the rare occasion every shot went in.
We were stupid that 24th of october. VVV were just pure shit and didnot put any effort on the pitch anymore.

I'm curious what happens too. This last match for Traore helped him a lot. I haven't been impressed with him. Playing striker at Ajax is really difficult.

Brobbey is probably asking for a lot of money considering his contract is up in June. I'm not sure he's worth it either. I've watched him a little but people who have watched him a lot say he's the type to score a ton of goals in youth matches because he's so strong but not perform at the top level. Ajax needs to play him a bit with the first team to see what they have.

But the problem is clearly the team is best with Tadic as the 9, Trarore needs time to prove himself as well and you want to keep KJH sharp (although I think he will play even less this year). So with Brobbey-- where will the minutes come from?

Also an aside: it seemed like in the CL match against Liverpool that Kudus was going to operate as a false 9 in a 4-3-1-2. I am curious if he might be the best in the middle up top for Ajax.

Ajax have to win today or they're in a deep hole.
A draw is no good either, they gotta win!!!

Starting Traore is a risk IMO. Better offensive lineup would be Promes-Tadic-Antony/Neres, with Ekelenkamp in MF, but that is just my opinion. Good luck anyway.

A draw is fine to me. We draw away, win next two matches and get to 7 before away Liverpool/Atalanta at home, we would be OK. We would need to run up score on Midtylland.

We would just need Liverpool to beat Atalanta in the next two matches.

I don't like Traore in this match either. I thought Blind as the DM worked well last week when you have Martinez behind him. Front 3 of Neres-Tadic-Antony is way better.

But to me this is a very offensive lineup. 4 pure attacking players in there. Gravenbersch/Klassen can attack too. Why not? I'd rather see Ajax attack than sit back.

What a dirty, late tackle on Antony at the end. Good god. Everything that can go wrong for Ajax in CL has if he is hurt badly.

I don't get why Martinez didn't play in this match. It's EXACTLY the type of match he excels in. Blind got burned badly on both goals.
