I'm a new EPL fan due to a book (long story). My question, while it may seem a stupid one to most, is where is Ryan Giggs? How come I can't find him on the Man Utd roster on their website? Was he injured last year? Thanks.

He's definitely still with Manchester United, it may be an error on their site, I've noticed they goof up sometimes

I'm sure he'll be playing for United today against Bournemouth in a pre season friendly...

    It's live on MUTV.....:)......

Sorry if you can't get it over there...

You're the 1st person I know to have MUTV. I can't imagine any channel devoted to any 1 team to be interesting.

Giggs has a lucrative Reebok deal that has him on the couch, playing footie in the back yard and trying to play with some young footie fans who dont recognise him. Theres a website with all the commercials. Go to Reebok.com and I think it has directions to the site. Its almost Cribs with Giggs.

Actually, he's negotiating a contract with Blackburn, to team up with Cole, Yorke and Gillespie :D. We'll have Ruud in a few years time ! :D.

    And you're absolutely correct....

The thing is that I always get MUTV for one month every year...

Even then I keep forgetting that I've got it, I get it every year just for the pre season games...

I never keep it because I have never heard such overtly biased "fans" as I do in the phone ins...

    I'll give you an example...

A guy from Northern Ireland called in just before Euro 2000 and claimed that Kevin Keegan hated Man United?????...

The reason for this was that he hadn't picked the injured Andy Cole in the England Squad...

This was at a time when he picked Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Nicky Butt, Teddy Sheringham, David Beckham and Wes Brown in the squad...

Too many idiots who think they know about football (but obviously don't even have a clue), my telly was in serious danger of being kicked in...

You've hit the nail on the head on the problem with these team channels. The bias would inevitably lead to really soft interviews. Would an MUTV interviewer ask Fergie whether he got it wrong over Veron ?, or about the rumours Man Utd illegaly 'taps up' players ?. It would be like The Telegraph interviewing Norman Tebbit about immigration, economics etc.

And of course, you'd gat the most mental, blinkered fans ringing up saying rubbish like you mentioned.

But they'd be useful for the pre-season games.

Useless fact: Blackburn were the 1st team in Britain to have it's own radio station.

I heard that he was at home recuperating with 3 broken ribs.
Somebody tried to get him to smile and he actually laughed and broke them...:)

    Is that right?...

United have a radio channel but I don't know anyone who listens to it...

Right after our tour of Scandinavia I'll be saving myself £6 a month by ditching MUTV...Until the same time next year...:)...
