Ok, at least we got someone to participate, even though it does seem that morning medication was not available before posting. Thanks for your contribution.

    Now lets discuss.
One; You care enough to spend 3 minutes to read my post and answer.
Point two; If Ecuadorian players do well in other leagues, crappy that they might be, they have a chance of playing at the UEFA level gaining invaluble experience that they would not get in Ecuador. Even though it might just be for the first round.
And third; Ecuador might do poorly in Copa America, but once again, a true fan of the sport does not need to see trophies in the cabinet to love their team...they just want to see them play!!

So Betto, thanks for playing, who's next?

I read at CRE the Deison might be signing with Inter in the next 2 weeks...
and who would have thought in a million years that Edison Mendez, Segundo Castillo, Felix Borja and Carlos Tenorio would be champions with their respective teams in Europe and Asia.

Ecua futbol is now known throughout the world!

I can't wait to see Copa America! Ecuador will play to win!

The good thing about having some of our players collecting championships in foreign leagues is that they bring the winner attitude to the team and transmitting it to the rest of our players.
Our team will be stronger that ever if our players just start believing a bit more.

Thats right...but I didn't know they had won their league. Cool! Below the article. Not sure if Borja played, though.

OLYMPIACOS CFP, CHAMPIONS AGAIN!!! (22/04/2007 20:58)
By beating Kerkyra 3-1, OLYMPIACOS CFP, the Legend of the titles of the greek football, secured another championship, the 35th in its history and the 10th during the last 11 yeras. This is a record that looks impossible to be vitiated in the future from any other greek team. OLYMPIACOS'S goals were scored by Rivaldo (3'), Djordjevic (25') and Castillo (53') while for the visitors Carvalho netted once in the 58th minute.

No, and I wouldn't be to sure about this being more than speculation until he is actually there and something has been signed. we all know that in ecuador when they say "99% chance" it usually means that the 1% is of the most likelyhood. Exageration is a part of our vocabulary.

I hope it falls through and he is successful in Italy if it happens.

Yeah I heard that too, Since Red Star Belgrado and Athletico Madrid do businnes with a lot of common agents it makes sense that some tapes might have been shown to atletico,

Well, Red Star is entered to qualify for the CL as champs and Atletico Madrid should qualify for the UEFA Cup. Either way, he will be exposed to playing in Europe's top competitions!

Red Star will try to keep Castillo at least for qualifications for Champions League, but if we recieve good offer, we'll probably sell him due to our poor financial status at the moment. I've heard that Athletico Madrid and Newcastle want him badly. :)
