Just wondering becuase both our full backs looked preety good last Saturday.... except maybe when Johnson scored. I'm not to sure where each player exactly plays on the back line and then I'm wondering how that will effect Jim Brennan, does he step back into the midfield?
are you kidding andrew boyens played like crap, he might be one of the slowest players i have ever seen on a professional field, he looked out of place. i am sure that there are other players out there. goldthwaite looked good, brennan looked good, and wynne had his bright spots but boyens, i am still having nightmares of players running by him.
Not to mention 2 minutes in he made a stupid tackle that got him carded when there was really no threat....Boyens is damn slow and Pozniak should replace him when he returns, which is when?
Ouch!! Your deffinetly a Toronto sports fan. Ok, so u don't like Boynes that much and I guess he hasn't exaclty played the best, but can we cut the kid a little slack..... I mean it's bad enough that at the start of the season the kid gets thrown into a 3 defender system on the road and it just happens to be not only his first ever MLS game, but first ever proffesional game. Anyway, I guess it all depends on how u see TFC. If u see us as an expansion team then Boyens should be out their playing every game.... but if u see TFC as a team built to win now then fair enough. BTW.....Thanks for taking the time to respond to my question about Pozniak and Boyens and the positions they play by picking on a 22 year old rookie. Classy! Oh and your comment with regards to my question about possibly having Brennan move to the midfield.... First Class! It's bad enough that my origianl comment was that the full backs looked good and u decided to pick on a central defender....oh well... hey! can I take this as meaning that Pozniak and Braz are going to be central defenders? Please folks answer that last question and lets not turn this into a thread that starts off about where Pozniak and Braz play, and ends up about Toronto sports fans or how much everyone else hates Andrew Boyens. Hang in there Boyens!
Woah, you need to relax. Don't dare harm his precious Boyens! I believe he's in there temp anyways, until Braz and Poz come back...So like it or not, he'll prob go back to the bench soon.
i understand that you are upset that i didnt answer your question, but i couldnt believe that you felt that the defense played well last saturday. as for brennan moving the midfield, i thought that he was one of the better fullbacks and with how shaky they looked at times in the kc game i feel that it would be better to keep the best defender back there until perhaps stalteri comes to toronto as was suggested in another post. but hey, i havent seen boyens do much good and anything would be a step up. both pozniak and braz can take his place, i am not sure both are good enough to make the starting lineup over wynne, goldthwaite, and brennan. i think that perhaps use one as a starter and the other as a sub would be the best way to go. we already have a glut in the midfield with players that can play especially if obrien is back and brennan is best in the back at this point in time.
in the last match, i believe wynne cracked it back to boyens and he wasn't anticipating it. the runner (johnson) was already on the ball so it didn't take much to get past boyens. he has shown some promise and compsure nad although i don't think he is mature enough to start and hold a game yet at this level, this is a big confidenec boost for his future. i thought he looked really good on the late corneres in the mid week kc game.
