Why hasn't there been an official announcement? What's the deal? Are they waiting for the start of the next season do decide? Is this a joke???
A couple of things have delayed the announcement. It seems like they were set to announce officially back in May/June, but then Chivas Guadalajara went to the final of the Clausura season. Then, w/ Seattle heating up only to be eclipsed by SLC, I think the league wanted to wait, in my opinion to announce SLC first, and the more controversial Chivas USA second. This way, it takes the bite out of the argument that the league is straying from its mission to develop 'American' talent (as if US Latinos weren't American). Oh, and then there's the phenomenon of "MLS time", kinda like "ethnic time": you tell gringos to get to a party at 8pm, and they show up by 8:15, and then somewhere around 10-11 pm, the blacks and Latinos show up; and then at around 12:30, Argentines make their appearance, and some time around 2am, the Phillipinos arrive. So MLS operates on Phillipino time.
I'm waiting for the official announcement. Do we know which day next week? or is this just pure speculation?

Ah, young grasshopper, you have left out the reasons why they left this Big Soccer par-tay: A third of them got all pissed off at the rumor that Vergara was coming to the party but would only bring other Latinos to the party. Indignant, they begin pouting, took their 6 pack of Bud and stormed off. A third didn't want to seem racist by leaving the party b4 the colored ppl came (after all, they realize that blacks got a raw deal here), so they just floated some chips in dip and sipped their beer. A lot of gringos thought, "Ooh, ethnic hotties for me to fetishize, I'm all over that!" And the rest just wanted to party. but by the time the Pilipinos arrived, yeah, even the rice kings were gone! and the Latinos were furious, b/c the Philipinos had pimp guayaberas that made theirs look ghetto.
