Where are all of the Mariner's fans? It appears that another season is going by without our team. Virginia Beach needs a solid group to push them into bringing the Mariners back to the USL and finally fulfilling the original promise of putting MLS in the SportsPlex.
Alas, those are mere pipe dreams. The SportsPlex is more likely to become a semi-pro football (pointy ball) stadium than an MLS SSS at this point. It's time to get behind the Piranhas and let them know we appreciate their continuing efforts. They are the future of professional (or semi-professional) soccer in Hampton Roads. I am really looking forward to this year's season! Let's see what they can do with a whole year to get ready.
This isn't a knock against the pair of you. You are both fans who any team would want............................ ................but. Both Virginia Beach fans have already spoke. There is nobody else.
Your right. (with some exaggeration of course) The PDL Piranhas were able to draw 1,000 fans on their final home game last year. We're hoping we can pick up where we left off last year. But, you're right. This area has a sorry track record for coming out and supporting it's local team, Fish or Mariners.
I just saw this on another board: ...did a search for Rhinozone and didn't come up with anything, so I haven't been able to source this. Nevertheless, I thought y'all would find it interesting. Williams is a guy that's looking into buying the massively debt-ridden Rhinos.
