First, sorry if this belongs in another thread, but.. I thought JSL said the 50 goal of the year candidates would be broadcast every wednesday starting on the first of this month (December). I didn't see them on last Wednesday's broadcast, and I can't find any info on FSW's website. Did I not hear him right, or did I not see enough of the broadcast on Wednesday?
Re: Where are the goals of the year? I think that the countdown begins on Tuesday (Dec. 7th) from what I heard on the Fox Sports World Report.
First 5 were last night....gotta say I wasn't impressed. Seems like they pick goals that were important in context, but not necessarily spectactular as individual goals. But then they don't usually tell you the context, so it is lost on the viewer.
I had the same overall thought. They were nice goals, but not quite what I'd expect for the top 50 for the year.
That is what I thought about last night's goals of the week. Dennis Rommedahl's unspectacular goal(voted #1) vs Southampton was nowhere near as good as some of the others. It was however a gamewinner in added time.
lets all remember these were the first in a long list, the ones that needed to get the nod (i suppose). bein a newbie, i was already impressed, and i think the top 25 will be bada$$
