I'm dubious, too. But I do think MLS and the players and coaches have learned a lot from their time in the bubble. Maybe, just maybe, it'll mean they manage games in home markets with a bit more intelligence than other leagues are showing.
Any word on the release of a schedule? I would guess they’re keeping what’s left of the old, tattered schedule, but it sounds like they will be adding games (presumably weeknights). Edit: we’re scheduled for a home game vs F*CKY on Aug 22!!
I think the bigger question is who will attend these games, if fans are allowed? Personally - I'd totally go. And I know at least one of my seat-pals would accompany me. Our wives, though, would have something to say about that.
Anyone who's been paying attention to baseball, even a little, has to have serious concerns about what sport looks like right now when it's outside a bubble. At this point, I honestly can't tell if it comes down to smarts or just dumb freaking luck.
Rule #1: The wife is always right Rule #2: See Rule #1 Rule #3: Weren't you listening the first two times? The first one translates perfectly into German, BTW (Meine Frau hat immer Recht).
Still nothing definitive, but it looks like Dallas-Nashville will play twice between 8/12 and 8/15 in Texas per what Goff has heard. https://www.washingtonpost.com/spor...-finalizing-plans-resume-season-home-markets/
Sad indeed when she passed a couple weeks back. Too many people only know of this song from Chill Wills riding 80 megatons of nuclear death waving a cowboy hat.
Me too. No question. But I'd have to sneak out of the house to do it. A freind copied me on an email he sent to his ticket rep (Marissa, not that it matters) yammering on about how he just doesn't think it will be safe next year and blah blah blah. (Note to Marissa: he's really just a cheap bastard looking for an excuse not to spend the money. He's a great guy, truly, but hes a bit peculiar about money.) He also thoughtfully computed how much money the team owes him based on the assumption that they wont play again this year and demanding that they cut him a check immediately.
Pretty sure they said during broadcast that everyone had fully recovered, pretty quickly, while they were still in Orlando.
Of course, none of the players who tested positive were ever actually "sick" in the generally recognized sense. They tested positive and were individually isolated in their Orlando hotel rooms for 14 days. There was a strong chance they might have died from boredom, but not from Covid 19. Fortunately, they all survived daytime TV and room service and are now back in Dallas working with their teammates.
The funniest movie ever made about the end of the world. And the actor waving his cowboy hat riding the H-bomb down was Slim Pickens.
I was skimming this and read.... Had to reread it a few times before my brain stopped adding letters that weren’t there!
