One of these years (well I'm HOPING for xmas of this year), I'd like to purchase a DVD recorder. But I'm not too keen on spending $500 or so for one. My climbing wall buddy bought one recently for about $400 after a $100 manufacturer's rebate. Is waiting another 10 months for the price to go down a bit tooooooo optimistic? If so, what is a more realistic timeline?
Why not just get a DVD-RW drive for your computer? I forget what I paid for mine, but it wasn't $200.
you might try checking out Best Buy or Circuit City and looking for an open box item. I saw a panasonic DVD-r for $230, originaly for 400. They offer the same warranty as a new one. They usualy have all thier open box stuff in one place. Sears usually has all thier open box stuff in a display case. They mark down the items like every 4 or 5 days just to get rid of it. Last year I bought a $600 digital camcorder for 250 last year. It's just a matter of looking for the bargain and buying it as soon as you see it.
