anyone aware of a discount US subscription offer, such as 442 has? I've looked at WSC's website and I see 44 pounds for a years sub (which is, what about $79)? Thanks Tony
It ain't cheap to ship individual magazines overseas. Given the likely subscription base, I don't really see WSC making any money by using a US distributor (like 442 uses). WSC is awesome, though.
Andy, yeah, I figure as much also, but I'm not sure I'm willing to drop $80. Of course, Champions is now up to $12 per issue, so that may be off my must-buy list soon also. Tony
Tony-- No, I pay at the exorbinant rate. Can you find it at a newsstand or bookstore? If not, ask them if they use Speedimpex as a distributor. If they carry any foreign publications at all, chances are that they do. If they get stuff from Speedimpex, go ahead and ask them to add WSC to their order because you'd like to buy it. I used to be in charge of periodicals at a bookstore--believe me, I appreciated the customer feedback. Most bookstores don't make any money at all on magazines, so it really shouldn't be a big deal if it's a store (and on the other hand, not much money is lost when a magazine is returned...in fact, considering how much shoplifting of mags goes on, they might even be making money). And if it's a newsstand, they should be looking at it like you're asking them to give them your money (same with a store). Any place worth going to should pay attention to feedback--it never hurts to ask (and, if you don't want a subscription, this way you can get the issues that you want without buying all of them!).
to get 442 on the cheap visit www.ewacars.com they import a lot of british magazines (read F1 and other auto mags) that is where I got my 442 subscription from. I think I paid $45 for the year. what are some other good soccer magazines out there???
