OK, if we're sending Cruz on these Bay Area sports pow-wows, how about we give him an opportunity with the 1st team next year?
15-14-3. Alexander Wennberg’s overtime goal helped the San Jose Sharks win at the Toronto Maple Leafs. Next up: the current road trip concludes at the Pittsburgh Penguins on NBC Sports California HD on Saturday. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
13-13. Not even Stephen Curry’s long-awaited return from injury could help the Golden State Warriors from losing to the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves. Next up: a visit to the Portland Trail Blazers on NBC Sports Bay Area HD on Sunday. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I'm enjoying this year's Sharks! They're surprising everybody; they were supposed to be on a long, difficult rebuild this season but are inches from playoff contention and Macklin Celebrini is everything we expected and more. In other news: What about dose Packers, eh?
Knock on wood so as not to jinx it, but it appears lately that several consecutive seasons of futility have led to a collection of very high draft picks (Macklin Celebrini, Will Smith, William Eklund, Michael Misa, etc.), along with some shrewd trades and pick ups (Yaroslav Askarov, Tyler Toffoli, Dmitry Orlov, Vincent Desharnais, etc.), that are all finally beginning to gel together for the Sharks. Fingers crossed that the positive progress continues. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
16-14-3. The San Jose Sharks roared back from a four-goal deficit in the third period (5-1) to win in overtime at the Pittsburgh Penguins. Next up: the SAP Center at San José hosts the Calgary Flames on NBC Sports California HD on Tuesday. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Reminds me nearly 50 years ago, Sabres overcame a four goal third period deficit in Pittsburgh to win, 7-6, in regulation. (No regular season OT back then.) Heard about it next morning from the muppet sports reporter, Biff Beeper, on kiddie show, “Rocketship 7”. Wouldn’t surprise me if Sharks’ comeback was largest in Pittsburgh since.
10-4-0. The San Francisco 49ers returned from their bye week with a win against the visiting Tennessee Titans. Next up: a visit to the Indianapolis Colts on Monday, December 22nd. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
The Kansas City Chiefs have been eliminated from playoff contention.... The last time the Chiefs missed the postseason was 2014.

13-14. The Golden State Warriors lost at the Portland Trail Blazers. Next up: a trip to the Phoenix Suns on NBC Sports Bay Area HD on Thursday. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Oh no, this is so tragic! Reading Rob Reiner’s obit, i didn’t realize how many great movies he made that I really enjoy.
