That, and having a backup quarterback with the quality of Mac Jones.

True, though I think Purdy started all the games last year, and the previous year they had Sam Darnold, who is also good. But Jones has done well enough that at this point it's not even clear who the starter should be. That would be ironic - $265M for a guy to sit on the bench?

The 49ers' kicker Eddy Piñeiro who was signed in September 2025 to a one-year deal after waiving Jake Moody, who had struggled during the opening weeks of the season is having a heck of a year.

I felt bad for Moody when he was cut but I don't think anyone misses him.

We wouldn't have been in a position to win this game without Eddy "Money" Pineiro! What a difference a great kicker makes!

And a good lesson for kickers here. Keep your eye on the ball.

Purdy is a future hall of famer, while Mac Jones (per Bills fans) is a “bag of milk”. Jones was warrior last night, I will admit.

The San Jose Earthquakes are deeply saddened by the passing of our founder and longtime owner Milan Mandaric.

We are forever indebted to Milan for bringing professional soccer to San Jose and building the Earthquakes into one of the longest running clubs in the United States.

His focus on developing soccer at the grassroots level and connecting his club closely with the community not only helped create countless soccer fans and players around San Jose and Northern California, but will serve as his lasting legacy as the sport continues to flourish.

    Thank you, Milan.

What was the real story about his departure?

I can’t say - ostensibly he departed due to health issues - but in the years immediately prior to his departure he gutted the team through some brain-dead decisions (see Karlsson, Pavelsi, Vlasic, etc.) that left the team in a dire cap situation and dug us a deep whole Grier is still trying to dig out of.

Tonight’s San Jose Sharks home/season opener against the Vegas Golden Knights will air on both the ESPN+ and Hulu apps.

The following Sharks game this coming Saturday (at home against the Anaheim Ducks) will then air on the usual NBC Sports California HD.

    I hope that helped. :)

How is it helpful the game is not on regular TV or even cable?

Since Diane Keaton is close to my age, I have to say that I enjoyed her the most in her 2 later films, First Wives Club and Something’s Gotta Give
