1-0-0. Despite missing an injured George Kittle for most of the season opener, the San Francisco 49ers still won a nail-biter at the Seattle Seahawks. Next up: a visit to the New Orleans Saints. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Well that was a kind of a lucky win. They did everything they could to give the game away - blown field attempts, interceptions, etc. And then at the end, Purdy throws the ball up for grabs in the end zone, headed for interception #3 and somehow the backup (3rd string?) tight end takes the ball away from the defender ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Then they give up the big play to Seattle at the end, Seattle poised to get the winning TD, but then get the fumble when Darnold's arm hits his own player as he tries to throw (credit to Bosa for pushing the guy). It's not that he's bad but I don't mind that Seattle's QB is Sam Darnold, and not Geno Smith and certainly not Russell Wilson in his prime.
Brock Purdy's rolll out TD throw resembled Joe Montana to Dwight Clark play known as The Catch from, 1982...
Meh, Joe threw it where only Dwight could get it. Brock threw a 50/50 ball at best and it was kind of a minor miracle that Tonges grabbed the ball away from the defender.
I can't believe Buffalo won that game. Baltimore seemed unstoppable. I've never seen a RB dominate and reel off huge chunks of yardage like Derek Henry did in that game. But the Bills were also pretty unstoppable.
Always have a soft spot for the Bills. Sort of reminds me of my Packers: A small city (second smallest market to Green Bay), and play outside in winter weather that can get downright nasty. They're sort of the Packers of the AFC.
@bsman, which flavor of pie will you and your family be enjoying while watching tonight’s Thursday Night Football game between the Green Bay Packers and the Washington Commanders? And will you be eating it today while watching the game at home (either on Prime Video or on whichever local station it’ll be on over there) or in the stands at Lambeau Field? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Funny - I’ve seen the Packers play at Candlestick and Levi’s but have never been to a game at Lambeau! I will have to rectify that. WRT pie - our tradition is to have a cookie I. The third quarter.

Neglected to follow up that the Packers convincingly tore the Retreadskins a new one... Since that was a Thursday game, I am now free to watch the 49ers play today.
And just as importantly to that win: what type of cookie did you and your family eat in the third quarter (just curious)? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
2-0-0. Filling in for an injured Brock Purdy, QB Mac Jones led the San Francisco 49ers to a second consecutive road win at the New Orleans Saints. Next up: the Home Opener against the Arizona Cardinals. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
