Why in god's name did you include a picture of him in a uniform he wore for about 12 minutes? Exactly none of the highlights you posted were achieved in the "gay pirate" motif... SMDH...
And having been placed on injured reserve means he’ll be out a minimum of three games (including last Saturday’s game against the Anaheim Ducks). GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G

Was the Loma Prieta earthquake really 35 years ago today? Some on these boards weren't even born yet or were perhaps in kindergarten or in first grade at the time, while I was already in my first semester at San Jose State (having graduated high school earlier that year)... man, I'm old! Among other things, it hit the Bay Area in the middle of the only MLB World Series to date to feature both of the Bay Area's MLB teams. In any case, where were you the moment the earthquake hit (I was sitting bored in a math class at SJSU in which the teacher was explaining how logarithms could be used for the Richter scale - I'm not kidding!), and how will you commemorate the anniversary? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
In my apartment in Buffalo, after a day of law clerk duty, lying on my futon getting set to watch the World Series.
I was upstairs at the Valley Fair Mall near the Macy's entrance. The indoor mall was fairly new, had been opened in 1986 I think it was and it has rollers so the structure was rocking back and forth. I remember running like crazy down the stairs and getting outside. I had an English Lit midterm at West Valley College the next night and I was going to study that night but then they canceled classes for a week and I remember being happy about that.
I was at working at the old 411 office off of Tully road watching the hanging lights swing. Came home to a collapsed carport and no power for a few days.
0-2-2. The San Jose Sharks lost at the Chicago Blackhawks. Next up: the current road trip concludes at the Winnipeg Jets on NBC Sports California HD on Friday. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I had picked my kids up early from daycare. I had planned to take them to the pumpkin patch on Grant Rd in Los Altos (sadly a farm now long gone, replaced by housing). They were downstairs when the shaking started and I learned it is a bad idea to run down a flight of stairs during an earthquake. I felt like I was in that old Charlton Heston movie, Earthquake.
