Must have overlooked the fact that History San Jose has a reprise of its Speed City exhibit, ongoing now at the San Jose Museum of Art. Speed City was the nickname for the championship caliber 1960s San Jose State track and field team that included Tommy Smith and John Carlos, famous for their raised fists on the medal podium at the 1968 Olympics. This is an incredible exhibit and should not be missed. SPEED CITY: FROM CIVIL RIGHTS TO BLACK POWER Friday, November 1, 2019–Sunday, April 5, 2020 Organized by History San José and presented in partnership with SJMA This archival exhibition, originally curated by Urla Hill in 2007, examines the broader history of athletics at San José State beyond Tommie Smith and within the historical framework of the civil rights movement in the 1960s. Featuring memorabilia, ephemera, photographs, and archival documents, Speed City: From Civil Rights to Black Power reveals the unique cross-section of sports and activism fostered at SJSU from the late 1940s through 1969. https://sjmusart.org/speedcity
So is snow. Better get shoveling to deal with this problem. The climate movement is overwhelmingly white. So I walked away. https://t.co/mGvnSmeWr7— VICE (@VICE) February 6, 2020
I can sleep well at night knowing VTA's on the job. Tonight, the Board adopted a resolution declaring a climate emergency, building on VTA’s existing commitment and progress to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, directing specific actions to help achieve that goal, and supporting legislative efforts that aim to avert climate change.— VTA (@VTA) February 7, 2020

@don gagliardi: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...s-bengals-fandom-not-enough-medical-marijuana Should Buffalo Bills fans file an amicus brief?
Fairly creative attempt to try to game the system. Of course, the idea that marijuana is still not legal nationwide for recreational use when alcohol has been available and opioids have been actively pushed on people who don't need them despite their incredibly addictive nature speaks to how insane our whole system is. Of course, for Ohio pro football fans, the far easier solution is to stop watching those crappy teams.
The city of San Jose was showing great empathy when they allowed a pot shop to open up across the street from Earthquakes Stadium.
