Interesting fact that!! Still trying to find a store that sells Yuengling over here. You are evil people for introducing me to such a wonderful brew knowing full well I will have to travel back to get some
There's some chillin' in my fridge waiting on you Dave. Happy Thanksgiving to all my Barra Brothers and Sisters. Today I give thanks for having met all of you locos.
Don't get me wrong, it's MY idea of a good time too, and I do live in Dublin (from Belfast orig.). It's just that the denizens of this country see Guiness drinking as the unofficial olympic sport.........which can lead to a hell of a lot of fun'n'games on the streets after closing time as hundreds of people with genetically inherited temper problems and a taste for bareknucle contests roam the streets The other problem is that tourists who aren't used to strong black beer come here to drink it and then return it to us, used, on the pavements, usually containing half-digested pub food!!!!
Ditto my good man. By the way I'll meet you any day you want for happy hour. I was hoping my wife could make a happy hour on the 17th but it's sandwiched between a couple of christmas parties. I can make it solo though. We should talk about going to the sale on thursday too. Is Carlos going?
Yeah Carlos will be there, I can't make it. We'll keep in touch for the HH. I really like Fado's but we'll wait and see what the other vatos think.
I've never been to Fado's in the district but I'm sure it'll be cool. I should be there. I've been slow to respond because that's three weeks away and I can barely remember what I'm doing tomorrow, let alone three weeks away.
I would be lying if I said it wasn't pretty good Got me thinking about tonight now...........got to go to my favourite bar for the best pint of Guiness in Dublin. Making work pretty difficult today
Just back from Key West and catching up here... If Rob doesnt mind, Jan. at his place sounds great. The bar thing would be nice, but f-that its more Barra to do it ourselves and have it at a house. We don't need to kiss some places a$$ to give us a good party. --Now as soon as this semester is over I will get to work on the 1st Annual Barra Awards. The trophy for most arrested/ejected member should be worth the trip alone
Hey I can proudly state that on my last visit to the Emerald Isle (which was a month and a half long) I consumed many a pints of Guinness and not one of them landed on a sidewalk. And I must have gotten lucky, no fights witnessed in the various towns I visited. Including your beloved Belfast (which BTW I think is an amazing city).
So is this thing for the 17th at Fado's going to happen? All this talk about Guinness and I want to get to the drinking...
I would have driven to frednecksburg to assist...have a crash pad there next time, call a brother will ya ?
Hey Mike, When class lets up (hey I swear it will I'm not making this $hit up!) We should get all the brothers (Begbie/RM too) together down there and have dinner/drinks at Aztlan Mexican restaurant (in front of Spotsy Mall) I am pretty close with the people that run it and they always have futbol on at the bar. Its easily my favorite restaurant. I wont even get into how deadly the famous MEXICAN ZOMBIES they make are (The thing is all Bacardi and 151... ) ANYONE NEAR THE FREDERICKSBURG AREA needs to check the place out. Real Mexican food. Real Latinos. Real nice people.
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to GrillMaster again. Somebody pos rep Grill for me...
thanks elder brother... now...someone wake me up when the party is gonna start...before the keg floats..
Cool! I'm glad you liked Belfast. I think people are amazed at how it has changed. It was totally different when I weas growing up, but now it's really just like most other places in Ireland. Well............apart from the history and the animosity that still bubbles under the surface!
