We are planning an awards/end of the year get together at some point. Right now a couple of us are working on the details. I think the big question is going to be do we want to do a bar/restraunt or someone's house like the pre-season party?
chico was working on getting the back tent (heated) at kilroys for our party hey chico any word on that or have you been too busy dotting ohio states "I" to get the details worked out???
Before you post a poll you might want to see who's willing to host a party in their home. Rob and Monica were gracious enough to do it last year and I wouldn't expect them to do it again. I'll check into the tent at Kilroy's this week and see how much $$$ that will set us back. With the holidays upon us, time and location are going to be hard to come by. Just food for thought....
i don't think we need a poll. we can certainly do it in our house again--i don't think anyone else has the room/parking to do it. i'm happy to offer up our place. but does that elminate folks who don't want to get over this far? if its ok, we can plan to do it here and just get some dates settled on. otherwise, i'd suggest a bar, but lets not "rent" a space, lets just fill one
For me personally, it doesnt matter. A suggestion would be to make it a New Year's party, but a lot of people travel during that time of year, so I would say either have it by the middle of December or just push it back past the holidays. Big props to Rob for offering up his house again. I wouldnt mind getting that tent behind Kilroys, but for a lot of people getting to Kilroys is just about as polarized as getting to Robs place, and in any case, we dont have to worry about paying to use Rob (or anyone else's) place.
Well seeing how you dropped the ball and haven't done squat I guess I'll get the job done, and yes I've been busy trying to get Rose Bowl tickets.... assmunch.
the more i think about it, the better i like the idea of a jan. date--we could sorta do the "pre-season" and "post-season" as one sort of gig. with the Concaff Cup, we'll likely start much earlier this year with training and games will be earlier, so it ought to work well. given this week is shot and by mid-dec no one has $$ or time, maybe a mid-Jan date is best. personally i'd rather do the thing away from a bar--can be spendy for folks around or just after holidays.
Which doesn't mean we can't have an informal Happy Hour a few fridays from now just to get together and share a few pints.
I think just throwing something together before the holidays is a great idea, which would suggest doing what Rob says and just packing a bar. Kilroys would be ok but somewhere metro accessible/centrally located would also be good.
I honestly don't care where or when it is. For some reason I just felt like I should say something so when the time comes I can pretend like I had a say in what happened. So, I say let's have it at someones house or at a bar, those really seem to be the best option. Of course, we could probably find a way to have it in Lot 8 on the scenic banks of the mighty Anacostia!
i remember the first time i went to rfk was for a dcu gameand we pulled into lot and and i looked upat the stadium and first think inotice is a guy walking on the roof. ever since ive really wanted to go up there.
