Back when the unified group names where being tossed around I was pulling for District 19 Twenty. If so I would've definitely gotten a jersey something like this: TWENTY 19 I still like the idea of that, but a fan # sounds like a fantastic idea. I'd vote for 12, a la 12th man. ACSTL 12
DJ here approved of my corner name! I've got a fan! Huzzah! Now be sure to follow the FPF, DJ. Especially my column. It's awesome. No, really. Anyhoo, 12th man works for me. Anything else gets political. Targeting 20 puts off the folks in 18 and 19.
To be a little more clear my vote for the fan # is 12. The spelled out "twenty" over the number "19" was just an idea when Kyle threw out the District 19 Twenty name for the unified group. Since that group is basically now the "St. Louigans" It doesn't really apply now. My lame graphic was supposed to represent the back of the jersey. "Twenty" where the player name goes, "19" where the player number goes. I don't think 19/20 would even fit on the back of the jersey. Still think it's not a bad idea to represent the corner, but as far as a fan number as demunb described, I'd go with 12 or maybe 0. Seems like 13 should be reserved for Reading FC.
so it's getting a little whittled down: Only reason I'm not a bigger fan of 20 is that it alienates a large portion of the fans who sit in the other 19 sections. 13 is a nice tip of the hat to Reading FC. 12 makes sense as the 12th man and everybody would understand it. 0 is my personal favorite, but I think I'm in the minority there. I guess 12 is the odds on favorite at this point.
why not 69, duuuuude?! The 12 makes most sense. 0 to me =zero, as in we are a bunch of zeros, or something negative like that sitting here thinking about numbers and meanings, etc...what are your thoughts on the number 8 on it's side? (stretched a little)the symbol for infinity, as in we are AC Fans for infinity. just a thought
If so, then we need to do it right in honor of St. Louisan Alex Winter: PRESTON ESQ. 69 So what are the odds we could get the club to designate 12 to the fans? It seems like a great idea to me. Last game of the season have a "retirement" ceremony for #12. It could both serve as a thank you to the fans for this season & as a sign to the fans that "yes we'll be back in 2011." Might even get some local news coverage. Somebody get me the front office on the line. I've got an idea to pitch.
12 seems to be the logical and popular choice, but I don't know if we should campaign for it or just start doing it. Tell Cap'n Jack to let the team know we're taking it next season? It would be nice if the club made it official, but getting three people in a room to agree on something seems to be impossible. I'll bet we've got more planned for "fan appreciation" night than they do.
I could offer free high fives to the first 100 ticket holders and it'd be more than what the team plans on doing.
well, I think I've decided. IF, they ever get more Jerseys in stock I'm gonna take it to Jonny Macs and get #12 and St. Louligan on the back. Maybe it will catch on, maybe it won't- but that's what I'm gonna do.
