take of millionarios and put d.I.m. have of the colombian posters are D.I.M. fans stupid choice on the part of them but its the truth
hey hey, no one mocks or calls you stupid for bieng a "fan" of América de Cali, so please some respect.
he wanted to say -in his broken english- "bad choice in the part of the one that put the poll together" for using a team that is fighting to drop to 2nd divison in colombia: MILLOS My vote was for OTHER!
I like their jersey too. didn't Newell's win the Libertadores once? I wonder where I can buy soccer team jerseys?
They've never won the Libertadores. They have been runners up twice. In 1988 I think they lost to Nacional de Uruguay, and in 1992 they lost to Sao Paolo (Tele Santana's team, what a team !!!) That is when I became a fan of La Lepra ( Newell's) ... Try this link to find jerseys of Newell's http://www.subsidesports.com/uk/store/product_list.jsp?id=711 Soccer Plus in Los Angeles used to have them, but I can't find it on their new website. http://www.soccerplus.net/
Or the Flamengo and Cobreloa of the early 80s! Who doesn't remember those great teams. There will never be another Flamengo like the Flamengo of Zico. Or the America de Cali of the mid 80s. Three times they made it to the Libertadores final and the 3 times they lost. But they had a great team and deserved to win at least 2 of those.
Not to get too much off topic, but speaking of Flamengo, its sad that they are so close to relegation. And there are so many other big teams that have gone down or will go down. Fluminense, Gremio this year .... I don't know of any other country where so many of the so called big and important teams struggle just to stay in the 1st division.
Other "big" teams in Brazil struggling to stay in the 1st division besides Flamengo, are Gremio, Botafogo and Athetico MG. Tough road ahead for all of them.
Not me. Don't really follow South America that much and know very little about leagues outside of Brazil, Argentina and Chile. But I do like watching it on TV. I especially enjoy supporters vs. riot police and the piles of rubble that seem to be a prominent architectural feature in Brazilian stadiums. Voted for Vasco.
Geez, that's just pure bad luck! or maybe they're cursed! has any other team in history had the same record?
