I've been trying to get a white Rev's jersey and have had no luck anywhere. At this point Ill settle for the home blue jersey. Are they all sold out?

Why would you want one of our dour uniforms anyway? Lousy logo, amateurish and trite 'shield'. I wrote to J. Kraft awhile back about it and got nowhere. A Betsy Ross flag? Please, when we have our own flag they could do somehting with:

Agreed the kit could be better designed. Never new that a New England flag existed?!

Anyways I still want a jersey... so if anyone knows what the deal is in regards to that... I would appreciate it.

I wonder how much a 20'X30' version of that flag would cost. Hmmm....

A 20 x 30 flag to unfurl in the Fort? I'd contribute to have that made! I'm sure Albert Ebinger, the man who makes the flag, would be able to do it. He's wicked nice.

I think a new shield based on our flag is in order. Perhaps an intertwined N & E in the body, with the canton/pine tree in the upper left and the circle of 6 stars in the upper right.

If I knew how to post pictures I'd scan the one I drew for general comment.

The Rev logo is what it is and I don't think there is any chance that it will change. If it was other than based on the US Flag it might be possible to have it scrapped for something different but scrap the US lag for something else---it won't happen.

OTOH, the Kits we have had have never been up to par and--- if---thats---IF ---we ever get to have Kits from a major provider that is interested in our business we may yet get a better design and Kits available to purchase without going on a major hunt.

Probably a good bit if professionally done.

For a point of reference, the blue and white Riders banner that's raised during player introductions and after every Revolution goal cost about $250 counting the stitching and fabric paint. That was roughly six years ago.

If you're cutting costs, the Flag of New England could probably be done for anywhere between $500 and $1,000.

BTW:This is a better "Flag of New England Page," the first flag (1686-1707) seen below:

I've seen that one as well. That might well be the flag that was flown at Bunker Hill, but the blue field with star circle is the one the NE Gov's Council has adopted (it was out front at Logan last time I flew). Perhaps the Rev's logo can be revised to include the pine tree and St George's cross?

And I've always thought that "FC New England" was a better moniker, but that's just my opinion

Personally, I'd keep the current Revs' logo. However, it'd be cool to model the Revs' jersey on the NE flag, particularly using St. George's Cross, even if it's just the 3rd jersey.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love the Revs' badge and logo.

The problem with jersey availability is Umbro. I'm still wearing the red jersey with horizontal striping from back in the day of JMM's first stint with the team. I would love to get a blue home shirt, but can't find one anywhere.

About the flag: the "commercial" NE flag is really not good vexillology because it's trademarked. I really like the design and I think it would be better if that designer in Ipswich would renounce his trademark so that others could manufacture it and it could be purer. I've always wanted to get one of those flags to bring to the fort to represent the region at the games. I know the Fire fans have scarves with the flag of Chicago on it and it looks really sharp!

For the kits, I could do with a badge change, with a more traditional Euro look, ie the Metros, with a shield or something. And the Umbro situation is infuriating. It's absolutely absurd that you walk into their official Pro Shop and you can't even buy a Rev jersey. ANy respectable soccer club has at least one version of they kit for sale in the stadium. I've already given up hope with the Umbro deal and I'm biding my time until they get another supplier, like Adidas or Nike.

Can anyone tell me why the Revs can't get out of this deal with Umbro? I know they are a supplier to the league but why can't the league get out of the deal, like the did with Kappa?

Agreed! I like the Revs logo and that jersey sounds like it might look real nice if done properly

What is the fascination with shields? I think they are dull at best, unless you have a history of championships and want to display that with little stars or whatever. But if that's the case, the Revs can start modifying their flag by making the number of stars correspond to the number of championships or something.

I've drawn up a replacement logo and would like input before sending it to J. Kraft. Anyone interested can e-mail me at newenglander381@yahoo.co.uk, especially if you know how to post a jpeg. Thanks!
