Wasn't he born here? All it says is that he is not going to Portugal, nothing about him missing the U20 world cup, which is the only thing that matters.

Quaranta has some domestic coaching responsibilities back in Baltimore.

It has been hinted on other boards that Tino might be a father soon. This is pure speculation though by someone who has way too much time on his hands. I think the press release said "personal reasons" if they are personal, I imagine he wants to keep them that. Any speculation as to what they are does no good and hurts the character of the one being speculated about. For all we know it could be his grandparents 50th wedding anniversiery, or his dog is having surgery. Don't go speculating when there is no basis for your arguement except, of he is 18 and a hormonal teenager.

As long as he's not injured, I'd say it's not a big deal. Even if he's a to be father, I don't find much controversial in that. He's got a job, so it's not like he couldn't support a kid.

As a US soccer supporter, I wish things turn out well for him.

Stephen Goff came on the DCU board a little while ago to say that Tino is indeed abouit to become a father and is staying with his partner for the event.

I guess he does have "domestic coaching responsibilities" after all!

Nothing to make you mature in a hurry like having a kid.....I think it's safe to assume that Tino will be doing nothing but concentrating on family and football from here on out. It might actually elevate his game.
