I have been trying to watch this week's Spata Prague match, but have no luck getting the file to play. I downloaded the torrent from Mininova, and it's in MP4 format. I swear I've downloaded every Xvid and Divx codec there is, but Quicktime and Media Player still can't play the file. This Gunner is now reaching out to his fellow fans to help him figure this out. I HAVE TO WATCH THIS MATCH! Any one have any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? if i can't get something to play in quicktime or windows media player I usually try the VLC media player. works almost every time.
Does it work in VLC media player? Do you have the AC3 Filter codec installed? That clears up a lot of MPEG-4 errors and other playing errors. You must have the K-Lite codec package already?
If worst comes to worst download Super C and change the file format into something more WMP-friendly. And putting the same post in THREE threads? Isn't that borderline-spamming?
I don't like VLC player personally, because I have been using it for years and one day the audio was all screwed up, so it would cackle every time I tried to play something. Now I just use, WMPlayer, GOM Player, or WMV player and I have all the codec patches, so I rarely have a codec error.
Sorry about the pseudo-spam... I am just dying to see this match. I would love to have this file playing in time for my flight across the country. FYI- I have VLC Player... and it didn't work. Thank you, fellow Gunners, for all the tips you guys have given me so far.
I downloaded the same match, and the file is .avi not .mp4 VLC works for me, did the file download all the way?
I officially have every codec and player known to humankind. It still doesn't work... the format says its mp4... Maybe I should change it to AVI? Where did you download the avi file from? Thanks again guys... Even though i know the score, i still gotta watch every second of it!
I got the file from mininova, the same link as the one you provided (under details tab it says it's an AVI file too). It could be a bad file...I would delete the file and redownload the torrent from mininova. The match download shouldn't take too long as there are 100+ seeds ATM.
IT FINALLY WORKS! I downloaded the torrent again, and this time it was in AVI format. I think the file I originally downloaded was faulty. Thanks for all your suggestions, fellow Gunners !!! Now I can finally watch Arsenal destroy Sparta
