The MetroStars plugged through a rainy practice Wednesday, still missing their two newest forward acquisitions. Trinidadian Cornell Glenn and Argentine Sergio Galvan did not attend the training session, and it is still unclear if either will be in uniform when the Metros face D.C. United in their home opener Saturday.

"We don't know when they'll be available and we're not going to worry about that right now," said Metros coach Bob Bradley. "You can never tell how long these things will take, but we're confident with the team we have going into Saturday."

Glenn was set to arrive in the area Wednesday and is expected to train with the team today, while Galvan's date of arrival is still in question. Both players had been expected to join the Metros by Friday.

The newly-signed forward who has been training with the team, Jamaican Fabian Taylor, has looked strong in practice and appears to be a good bet to crack the starting lineup against D.C. His speed, impressive skill on the ball and strength in the air make him a good choice to trouble a D.C. defense that is well-organized but lacking speed. Taylor showed glimpses of his ability during his 26-minute debut against Columbus on April 3.
