Hey boyos, been forever since I've had time to check the boards. I saw we were eliminated from the CCC. And that DeRosario is gone for the season...shite. I haven't been able to keep up with other stuff due to university commitments and having an antique taxi run my foot over. Let me know what's been going on! Oh, can we purchase the new kits yet? I want to show off our team colours here in the UK.
When I talked to the Quakes front office the other day, they said they hoping (but not sure) to have the new kits in time for the home opener. I'm not sure when MLSgear.com might have them available. Just don't hold your breath.
Umm dunno how to tell you this, but Nike has screwed ALL of the MLS teams who are expecting new jerseys from them... ie. San Jose, Metros and L.A. Got a lovely e-mail from Metro last week that they are not expecting the shipment of new home shirts until the 25th. So the Eddie Pope shirt I pre-ordered in January and was supposed to arrive in mid-March will not be arriving until early May.
Both blues are suprising people this year. No one thought we would be this far up the table this late in the season, and no one is expecting too much from the Quakes this year...hopefully a double surprise will be on the cards.
MLSGear.com has all Nike kits not being ready until 5-15. We will all be 4 weeks into the season at that point. On top of that, I don't know how many of you saw the Galaxy play this past Saturday, but anyone wanna wager a guess why most Galaxy players didn't have long sleeve jersies on? You guessed it, Nike didn't have them ready. Enough said about that company.
So, for fans who are getting new tops, then hope to get them customized (either directly or through Club Quake), we're talking 6 weeks into the season, figuring an extra two for customization? Nice. And that's if (a BIG if) the uniform shops like Cal Custom have immediate access to the new "official" numbering (the numbers have the MLS logo on them) and lettering, because in the past this has been a problem. Thank God I could care less about getting one of these lame new tops. The CyberRays' new Kelme kits are way cooler.
LOL It's Everton mate. Everton are called the Toffees because when they moved from the old curch ground in Liverpool (by which in 1892ish that same church that kicked Everton off the grounds founded Liverpool; hence the rivarly) at the turn of the 20th Century there was a Toffee house candy shop near the new ground, so the team has been affectionately known as the Toffees ever since.
What's new since March: Barrett is playing great defense. For another team. Conrad is playing great defense and getting yellow cards. For another team. Yallop is hard at work scouting young players that won't get any playing time this year. Russell is spending extra time training for the great Russell-Donovan sprint contest. The injury is just a cover story. Agoos lead a commando team to take out an Al-Qaeda cell in the jungles of the Philippines, armed only with the new Puma MLS Match Ball featuring the groundbreaking Dimple CW-System. Donovan spent 4 hours a day perfecting his pouty-lips look for an upcoming photo shoot. Lagos is spending all his free time in his garage, trying to increase the capability of his time machine, which currently can only take you back a year and a half. Robinson helped edit two tracks of the upcoming CD by the Satanist-noise group Non. His voice was also used to represent the eternal screams of the undead corporate oligarchy. Ekelund was busy getting new shipments of mind-clouding gas from his fellow aliens on the planet K'frond 5. Spartain stadium will continue to be the testing ground, but due to good reports of the gas' effectiveness, the planetary invasion will be moved up to the year 2004. People of exceptionally strong wills who are not effected by the gas will be dealt with individually. Rikter is still living under the 280 overpass near Steven's Creek. I take him a can of food once in a while. It is very sad.
actually Mr. (i've got my head in the sand and refuse to admit we don't support our soccer team) I wasn't trying to troll. The plain fact is that San Jose will not support MLS. There are just too many options available and folks here don't understand the game. I would personally like to see this franchise moved to an area which has a good soccer following, Rochester, Milwaukee, or even Seattle. Hell, the majority of posts on the quakes boards deal with almost any topic except soccer. And I'm not trying to be argumentative, I'm merely expressing my opinion.
I usually don't talk to vermin but i'll lower myself this once. Do you go to any Quakes games at all? Do you have season tickets for the Quakes and have had them for eight years? Do you support the team by buying their merchandise? Do you live in the Bay Area? If you answered no to any of these questions, then you sir, are a troll and your opinion doesn't mean shite. Now piss off like the good little idiot you are.
HAHAHAHA!! It's so darned laughable that you form your opinions based on what you read on the internet. Is your world view shaped by the nightly news too? So sad. If you haven't lived it or experienced it for yourself, then you really have no idea what you are talking about. Answer Beerking's questions. And then take his advice cuz we all already know your answers.
meaningful dialogue doesn't have to includes such phrases as "vermin", "idiot", and "troll". However, I will consider the source and move on. I do have season tickets. I do live in the bay area, and I don't buy their merchandise. I get it free. And I will not engage in any more discussions about the Quakes in this forum. However, I still hope , for the sake of the continued success of soccer in this country that the quakes do move. As much as I would miss seeing them in person. good day sir. And the expression "shite" is very british.
