Could Leeds possibly fold? I thought I read something about that somewhere and that's why they are selling all of their players.

...And why are they so in debt?

    With the SEs in 134
They borrowed heavily against future earnings to fund DOL's spending spree. The idea was to make the Champions League (and get some of the TV cash bonanza that it promised) every year.

Well, the economy went bad, the transfer market fell through the floor, TV money dried up, and, most importantly, Leeds barely missed the CL the past two years. Now the club is in major debt and, since there are new money managers at the board who are eager to pare the debt down, the selling of players began with Rio and Robbie last year.

Personally, I think if the team hadn't played like utter crap, and a CL spot was possible for next season, we wouldn't have sold Woody, but for all I know that might not have made a difference.

    Money in bank

Risdale reckons that after selling Woody the future of Leeds was safe.He said they did not need to sell but the offer was to good.

I hope in the summer the £9 mill plus £4.5 mill from dacourts move will be spent on players.
