Apparently there are "recent trade rumors, including one linking him to FC Dallas in a swap for Brek Shea, Lindpere played it cool. When asked by BigAppleSoccer.com if he had a no-trade clause, Lindpere said “I don’t know about these things.” http://metrofanatic.com/frame/index...ccer.com/teams/redbulls2.php?article_id=30963 I hope there is no substance to this as Lindpere is exemplary of the kind of player you want on any team and has been big contributor to the Red Bulls. It seems to me that any difficulties this year can be attributed to Backe rather than Lindpere
This is the first I've heard of anything. With all of the offensive players the RBs have been stocking up on, they'll need anyone who can play defensively. Lindpere can do that.
I could see a move happening. I know he extended his contract by a year I think. Is this his last year of his contract? I'd like to add Shea, but would really hate to lose Lindpere. Would like it if we packaged together some of our bums if we could. Lindpere is one of my favorites and always busts his balls every game, but I think something will happen where he moves away from us. I'd still cheer him if he went somewhere and scored against us.
This rumor was started by the guys on Telefutura. Other than that there has been no other talk about it. I doubt it will happen. It's just talk. And no this isn't the last year of his contract. He signed a multi year extension before the season.
I will not be surprise for that, he don't want to play LW and isn't room for his in CM, so, what to do, and of Shea I say that the RBNY better make a shut for him.... I will prefer stay with Lindpere and use him with McCarty as DCM, but we have the pain in the ass Marquez, so Lindpere become a surplus....
Correct. But it seems Lindpere is not in Backe's plans. Backe said: “He can’t play central,” “We’ve done it but then when we’ve had injuries.” “He’s a guy who needs time and space on the ball and then create for crosses and one-two’s and things like that.” “He has to (be a wide player) otherwise we trade him, that’s not a problem,” What a shame that Lindpere, one of our few players with skill and tenacity, is so poorly utilized and regarded by the coach. http://metrofanatic.com/frame/index...ccer.com/teams/redbulls2.php?article_id=31059
I think Lindpere is stronger centrally than Backe gives him credit for, but how is he not utilizing him properly? Now with Cahill arriving there's no room for Lindpere in the center unless in the case of injuries, in which case Backe said he can still slot in. So there's really only one option left if we want him to start, and Lade has easily made an argument that he could fight for that spot. Backe's comments, while a bit too aggressive for my liking, are most likely in response to Lindpere complaining to the media a few months ago about not liking to play out wide.
Answer is 3-5-2 if everyone is healthy Meara/Guadette Barklage Conde Pearce Dax Lindpere LeToux Cahill Lade Cooper Henry all fighters ..... well almost all.
3-5-2 might be the worst idea possible. Taking away another defender when the biggest problem is defense.
I seriously must have missed this 3-5-2 memo, its barely even used in world football but its been posted constantly over the past few weeks as the answer to our defensive problems... Our guys can barely handle their defensive shape in a 4-4-2, let's get the basics down before switching midseason to a formation that I doubt many (if any) of our guys have experience playing in.
I think that if you have a Libero and CM Fighters like Lade and McCarty, you will be OK... Because they will all time covering the defense with the others three and at the end every time the team is under attack they will be there to help, I understand that before the discovery of Lade and Barka this wasn't possible, but if you put Lade behind McCarty and Barka as the LB they will do the job....
The problem isn't that we don't have guys who can physically cover the ground to help a 3 man defense, the problem is that tactically and mentally its completely different than what we have been using for years. It doesn't do much good if Lade or Dax can hustle if they don't know which passing lanes to cover, when to pressure, where to play the ball in possession, etc... Not to mention our defense has very little pace so any speedy striker will have holes the size of canyons to run through for long balls. Moving to a 3-5-2 is essentially asking the entire defense and midfield to learn new positions, you think that's a good idea during the middle of a season, at a time in the year where we've historically struggled? Some players even struggle to adjust to a 4-3-3, which is a simpler formation. That's how Jozy Altidore lost his starting spot in the Dutch league last year. How about we concentrate on getting our guys healthy and playing consistently together in a simple formation before even thinking about switching to a more complex system...
Who is using for years what?....RBNY?....Metros/NYRB change roster like we change underwear, I never see the same roster week by week not to mention months or years.....
