I just watched Avatar 2 and I forgot how much Cameron stole the story of Native Americans and made them blue. It is wild how this concept is suppose to be new but it's not really.
You know what? YES!! That was a good movie but it was one tribe and I felt more respectful than this mish mash or pacific island and tribes that border large rivers and such.
I dunno, I thought it was pretty well understood when it came out that it was a parable of how renaissance Europeans interacted with Stone Age cultures when they met.

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profo...dation-for-potential-return-to-their-old-name Well. It seems the NFL is going to make racism great again because the old boomer in the White House is bigly upset.
Just like with the moments and confederate flag, its about history and heritage. Never about the blatant racism.
For the nation this is bad because it is showing that we are making racism great again. For me it is good because it will end any temptation to start again the 3 hour time suck of NFL football.
Redskins is uniquely offensive and racist among the Indian names. Defending THAT name is just O.D.D. We ain’t talking a Guardians/Indians situation here. Redskins is indefensible.
"Why do the libs deadname everything? They're deadnaming the Gulf of America and the Washington R**skins! But when we refer to those...freaks as boy-names we're hateful!" This is (probably) part of the reason why they're doing it.
You’re not wrong…to fascists, controlling the past is part of their agenda of blurring g the line between true and false. The drive to define reality in their own interests is instinctive.
The Washington Commanders want to build a new stadium in DC. That means the federal government has a role. Trump is threatening to withhold approval unless they change the name back. In other news, the Epstein files still haven’t been released.
"There is a big clamoring for this," wrote Trump. "Our great Indian people, in massive numbers, want this to happen. Their heritage and prestige is systematically being taken away from them. Times are different now than they were three or four years ago." https://share.google/QU803XDBnOhr4xKU2 The great bigly dope thinks Sitting Bull and Sacajawea are of the same country as Sachin Tendulkar. "OWNERS, GET IT DONE!!!"
It's called a distraction. He's really upset he's in office at the same time Jeffrey Epstein won't go away. His last term started with chaos because he wasn't expected to win against Hillary and ended in chaos because "if I sweep COVID-19 under the rug, it'll go away." Ya know, I *did* say something about part of the reason GWB won in 2004 was because he was able to recognize a huge thing and dealing with it instead of hoping it'd go away.
Ironically while DC's mayor is a big fan of a new Commanders stadium in DC, the idea is not so popular among residents. Trump's ultimatum may serve to kill the stadium that many don't want anyway.
WHERE ARE THE SECOND CLASS BILLIONAIRES? I mean, if we are going to defeat Trump and Miller and Bezos and Musk, we're going to need to go for quantity - we're gonna need the Harvard Alumni and the Josh Harrises of the world to band together and tell the world that Trump is a crappy businessman and bad for the economy.
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/na...move-preserve-wounded-knee-medals-2025-09-27/ WASHINGTON, Sept 27 (Reuters) - The National Congress of American Indians strongly condemned on Saturday a Pentagon review that decided against revoking medals awarded to U.S. soldiers at the 1890 Battle of Wounded Knee, an event which many historians consider a massacre. "Celebrating war crimes is not patriotic. This decision undermines truth-telling, reconciliation, and the healing that Indian Country and the United States still need," Larry Wright Jr., the Congress' executive director, said in a statement.
Next up: Medal of Honor posthumously awarded to William Calley. Also, he gets a based named after him.
I have a vague memory of Calley being a cause celebre with wingnuts in the 1970s. That might just have been Jesse Helms and his minions.
