Besides me, what Yank would you like at West Ham?

I'd like to see Clint Mathis in the claret & Blue. It would be cool to have the Hammers come to the US and showcase Clint up top. He could work with Jermain, he could work with Kanoute or Big Les. He's tough, and I think London would do well for him.

Cletus would be an excellent replacement for PDC, less of a lunatic - but definitely a personality.

Other Yanks: DaMarcus Beasley - he might be too little for EPl, but fast as diarrhea when you can't find a bathroom.

    Last chance: Eddie Pope

In a couple of years: Carlos Bocanegra

Onyewu won't get a work permit.

Thorrington...needs to get out of Huddersfield quickly.

DMB: Spain......that's the likely destination. More money, and style of play will fit him - unless he goes to West Ham.

    No way - no how.

Reyna is not West Ham material.

Joe Cole and Carrick are better already.

I think WH have the small speed guy of the future in Defoe, so I don't think there is a place for DMB.

Eddie Pope would be an upgrade on any of the WH back liners.

JOB, would make for a nice Dmid or back liner.

Steve Cerundelo would be a nice addition to the WH back line.

Edson Buddle--Big, powerful, young forward who is equally adept at setting up goals as he is at scoring them. Can play quite well out wide on the right if need be. Defoe and Buddle could be a killer combination.

I offered my services, and they told me they are looking into it. I was happy to be a consultant - can't get a work permit.

I would just like to oversee the scouting and commercial side of the team.

While we need some bite in the midfield, with Cole, Carrick, Bowyer and hopefully Sinclair the midfield looks strong.

    Mathis is the guy....

Smart thinking like that proves why you are the soccer GM and I am the lowly high school teacher.

Thank you for your compliment, but you are chuffed potatoes yourself.

    How about Eddie Pope?

    Too old and injury prone.

How about Bocanegro inplace of Repka?

    Boca just needs more caps.

He's the best one we have, but short term - one year deal. Eddie Pope.

I like Pope as well as Mastroeni along with suarez or Garcia. The back is a big problem...

Timmy Howard. James is world class but Howard's as good and more reliable. Put James on the block, get a few million, spend it on a central defender. Win win. Howard's half-Hungarian and either has his dual passport or is working on it.

I volunteer myself. I could do at least as good as Barry Green.
