CENTCOM - or any military abbreviation, acronym The Brits The Situation is Fluid Hussein is losing control Irregular Army Precision Strike Climb the Ladder... Oops that's for another thread.
"If you're not with us, you're against us" I'm also sick of all Bushisms like "misunderestimate", etc.
Wow. Barb's right, though. This game would kill even Keith Richards if played longer than about twenty minutes.
I am sick of hearing USA being called America. America is a continent, not a country. Facts: Do you think soccer clubs called America (Cali, Mexico, Brazil, etc) were named after the USA? Noooo, they were named after the continent. There is a reason that the chant at the Olympics, World Cup and other international events is: USA, USA, USA!!!!! If you say America, America!!! You are confusing most of the Christian World. Other influential countries don't called the USA, America. For example: France: le state unit (sp.) Italy: Stati uniti Spain and Latin America: Estados Unidos Only some english speaking countries call USA America. They are USA, UK, Australia. I doubt a Jamaican or Bahamian would refer to the US as America, because they live in the American continent and therefore they are americans, too. By the way, Latin Americans have a tough time naming peoples from the USA. 1) definitely, USA'ers are not called Americans, because they are americans, too. The media sometimes uses "North Americans". But that name includes Mexicans and Canadians as well. So it's not good either. 2) The other name which is widely used is "gringos" but that name can be racist and it may only include people that look anglo. Therefore, a hispanic-american or non-white would feel excluded being called gringo, when they are and aren't at the same time. 3) Some South Americans or Spaniards would use yanquis, but to someone from the USA, yankees means somebody from the north, therefore excluding US Southeners. 4) The best description would be the one used by Latin Americans: Estadounidenses, or in english: United Stater. It sounds odd the first time you hear it, but at least it best describes USA peoples, and helps correct a huge error in history. To all: I am not anti-american. I just want to set the record straight. If America would have been called Columbia (as it should have been named from the beginning), I would have complained to the Colombians and say that Colombia is not a country, it was a continent first.
I know what you mean and I agree. The continent should be renamed so that the little brown people won't feel bad that they are overshadowed.
