I do think a lot will depend on his play. If he can't "break out" and geta starting position, then count on him having a low transfer fee.
its only like a month away, take a break from this bigsoccer biz if your getting too anxious, it will do you good
the way he played last season he should go out on a free transfer. but i believe he has a lot of skill, and with some help from DC United, it will be 10 million dollars.
For marketing reasons as much as on-the-field performance, I gotta think it'll be at least a few million.
I'm still waiting for Adu to dazzle. So far, Eddie Gaven and Danny Szetela have both been much more effective players than Freddy... And they are both younger than him too!
lets see . . . to reach 15million usd, that is what like 9million gbp, that is what crouch cost liverpool yeah? I mean chelsea spends that amount of money on its 3rd string defenders dont they? If he hits 10 goals or more each of the next 2 years and roughly 10 assists, 9million gbp is nothing extravagent for an 18 yr old phenom
At least $10 million. If they can't get that much, then it may be better for MLS and Adu to have him resign with the league.
Look at the numbers yourself: Adu: 4 goals, 6 assists, 37 shots Gaven: 8 goals, 4 assists, 34 shots Gaven scored more on fewer shots.
gaven was better 2 seasons ago, but adu had a better past season than gaven, that's why aduis the one at january camp.
he was called into camp before the "crying" do you really think that's it? Stop hating, Gaven did nothing this year, and Szetela, wow. Do you even watch MLS?
say phenom like ten times. so wierd. I don't know if Adu can be compared with crouch. and 10 g 10a may also be high expectations. I would also hope that if some club like chelsea or liverpool want adu for thrid string that he'd take the Convey route of the ColaShip. None of that adds up to more than 4 million gpb or 7 million usd
I'd rather have a Gaven than Adu. Its true Gaven's form slipped from the season prior especially towards the end when he was straight exhausted ... but given that the form we're comparing to was his MLS Best XI year, he's still much better than Adu. But irish ... Szetela performing better? I dont think so.
I thought current FIFA laws say that he can't sign a contract that extends past his 18th birthday and he can't sign overseas until he turns 18. So that would mean that MLS can't sign him to a contract that carries into a time when he will be able to sign overseas. So assuming he signs overseas as soon as he his able, without reupping with MLS, he will necessarily be out of contract, free-transfer. Is this not right? What are the rules about paying a development fee to the club (or in this case league) that developes a young player? That we should get right? Cherno
