Re: What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly - Transfer Thread doing an arsene with the o's? cheapass
Re: What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly - Transfer Thread I'm not afraid to use o's if they're capital O's, but I have enough small o's already that will become capital O's with more typing.
Re: What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly - Transfer Thread I've been a fan of Loic Remy, but we won't be bringing in two strikers in the summer, will we?
Re: What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly - Transfer Thread Probably just Mary-Ann Chammertack, I think we do need some reinforcements in attack, but our need for additions in defence and midfield are more pressing. I not even going to elaborate on the need for a new keeper, almost like asking do you need food and water.
Re: What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly - Transfer Thread Honestly, if there is a goalkeeper in our future, along with Chamahk (sp) and a Gallas replacement, that'll be enough to make me happy.
Re: What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly - Transfer Thread see the way sol is pushing for a wc place, if he manages to get it (i don't think he will tbh), does anyone else think that might be him retired before the start of next season or will he fight on for another season? he is 36 in september remember. we all know we need a new 1st choice keeper, but i'm still not 100% convinced we will see one. does anyone think we might see a surprise exit for someone?
Re: What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly - Transfer Thread I agree, a new keeper is the biggest need, but i'm not sure we'll get one. I'd like to see Wenger go all out to get Joe Hart, but even someone like Mark Schwazer would be an improvement. I just hope Wenger doesn't stick us with Flappy for a full year while waiting for Sneezy to be ready. If anything, i'd rather him just throw Sneezy into the deep end and make him the starter. We also need to sign a new CB, and hold onto one of either Gallas or Sol. We could also use another tough tackling CM and someone to challenge Walcott on the right. So ideally, that's 4 new players, but we'll likely only sign 2.
Re: What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly - Transfer Thread Wenger is definitely going to buy at least one CB. It's likely he buys a GK, and he almost certainly will get someone to back up Song or challenge him so Song could move back to CB.
http://uk.reuters.com/article/idUKTRE6463Z220100507 We should resign him and give him at least 5 appearances, if anything because me (as well as, I'm sure, many Arsenal fans) are nostalgic enough of to appreciate him.
Re: What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly - Transfer Thread With Given's injury it looks like Hart will start the season for City, so there's not much chance there. The only way will be if Hart gets realistic and sees that he'll be in the same position as this season once Given is fit and actually agitates for a move. He would be the best option as he's played penty of top-flight games and is still young for a keeper, but any solid experienced keeper would do, the two first choices we have at the moment are disastrous. With a new keeper in place and Mannone and Szczesny backing him up we should be OK there. I think we should look to sign a centre back and keep Gallas and Sol if at all possible. If Gallas leaves, sign two centre backs. I've never been totally convinced by Djourou and he should be third choice at best at the moment. Sol has experience and spirit and has been an excellent example to the other players this season. The really key position for me is the defensive midfielder. Once Alex Song is out for any reason the drop-off to Denilson or Diaby is too great. We really need someone to back up song here and even challenge him for his place too keep the level high. It also means we could rest Song for some games without dropping the level of the team too much. It looks like Chamakh is a done deal, so with Van Persie, Bendtner, Chamakh, Arshavin, Walcott and Eduardo covering the front three places that should be enough. Nasri and Rosicky can play up there too if necessary. Vela should go, he doesn't look like even he believes he can do it at Arsenal any more. I don't know if I'm alone in thinking that Wenger needs to give some key players a break at points in the season. He seems to want to play the likes of Fabregas and Van Persie game in game out, when leaving them on the bench from time to time might help them to avoid the muscle injuries that our players keep on picking up. If Gallas stays I'd like to see some plan where Sol plays every five or six games to keep Gallas' recurring calf injury from flaring up again. It's understandable that the manager wants his best players to play as much as possible, but at the end of the season we always seem to have a patchwork side because of the number of injured players we have.
Re: What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly - Transfer Thread perfect list, anti. although, just the keeper, centreback and hard centre mid would make me happy. the centre mid would not even need to be "world class" or internationals. just somebody willing to commit violence upon someone intending to commit violence upon an arsenal player . . . a lorik cana. that new guy and song can take turn getting suspended.
if he'd be willing to come back at a cut rate in the same backup/pseudo-coach role as campbell, i would be terrifically thrilled. i'd love to see wilshere to learn from him.
Re: What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly - Transfer Thread You're right, Citeh should hold on to Hart and start him next season, that's the smart move. But if they do, Given might be available, huh? Just trying to look on the bright side...
Re: What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly - Transfer Thread I think the only ready-made starters that Wenger will bring in will be a GK and Chamakh. I'm thinking Wenger will resign both Gallas and Campbell and bring in a new young CB recruit. I also think he'll bring in a new young DM recruit.
Re: What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly - Transfer Thread It would be an option That would suit me fine aslong as the "young" midfield recruit has some premier league experience. We can't afford to go another season with someone learning the role.
I'd like us to go back to being red carded more regularly in the centre midfield and central defensive areas.
Re: What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly - Transfer Thread I wouldn't be shocked myself if City go out and buy a big name keeper. Of course they don't need to sell Hart and I don't envision that happening unless Hart himself forces a move.
For a cheaper wing alternative Max Gradel at Leeds United wouldn't be a bad alternative as he'd fit the cheap/young pattern Arsene loves.
Re: What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly - Transfer Thread I'd love to have Jens Lehmann v2 playing for us aka Manuel Neuer
