--I saw a link to this site today, What to Rent. The idea behind the site is that you complete a quick survey to create a personality profile, and then everytime you're looking for a new movie you complete a two-question mood survey to help decide what movie would fit your personality and current mood. Signing-up only requires a username, no email or any other info. The stuff that it's recommended so far are movies that I have already seen and enjoyed or movies that I plan on watching, but I've only gotten four recommendations so I can't say how good it really is.
It took 16 recommendations before it gave me one I hadn't seen, which was "Quills" and I don't reallly care to see it.
The first two suggestions were American Psycho and 25th Hour - both films I think I might enjoy. Not bad.
I got Lock, stock nad two smoking barrels. WHich i have wanted to see for forever, but haven't. good job.
The personality assessment is quite good - I'd already seen nine of the first 10 recommendations. Cool beans.
25th Hour, American Psycho and Lock, Stock were three of the movies it suggested to me that I've already seen.
It wasn't very successful for me, but I'm kind of schitzo when it comes to movies, so I'd be hard to predict for.
