The 4-5-1 has been working well the past 2 games, but when Henry and Marquez return they will certainly start and Miller is likely to take his place back as well. Can you really sit Cooper with a 4-5-1? He's been playing well. Also, I really like Lindpere centrally and Solli wide. I think we're a much better defensive team with those adjustments. Dane has been a shell of his former self, but you never know with him. He could go on a 2 month scoring binge at any second. However, Backe proved with Lindpere that he's not opposed to sitting guys who aren't getting it done. I think Backe experiments with this once he has everyone: --------Henry-Cooper -----------Marquez Lindpere----------------Solli -------------Dax Miller-Conde-Holgersson-Barklage -------------Meara Me personally? I'd go with this: -------------Henry Cooper-Lindpere-Marquez-Solli -------------Dax Lade-Conde-Holgersson-Barklage ------------Meara I also expect RB to look for the following players during the transfer window in this order: 1. CB 2. CM 3. ST 4. GK
The 4-5-1 works well with the pieces we have now but I think 442 is the way to go when people are healthy.
We have almost a one month layover from may 23rd to June 17th, so by that date in June I expect everyone to be healthy or almost healthy. By that time we'll have a clear indication of the players Barklage, Lade, Ruthven and Hulk's ability so this next month is the make/break month for them. If they continue with their form none of them should be getting benched albeit Conde in for one of the CB's. In the midfield it will be tough as Dax has been playing great. Taino is by far the better player than Marquez so he should be inserted in CM and probably form a partnership with Joel. There's going to be good competition.. Maybe it's something like this -----------Henry------Cooper ---Lindpere-------------------Solli/Dane -------------Dax(DM)---Tanio --Lade----Hulk/Ruth--Conde/Ruth--Barklage ----------------Meara -I expect Agudelo to be a super sub and a rotational starter at the forward or LM positions. -Marquez(if not traded) will be interchangeable with Dax/Tainio and it depends on form for starters. -If Lade flops then Miller takes his spot, same with Barklage with Solli -I'll see Solli taking Dane's spot as he has a more developed game and Dane will be pretty dangerous off the bench
I think at full strength its a no-brainer to switch back to the 4-4-2, the Cooper and Henry tandem is simply too deadly to break up. Defensively at full health its looking like you could take your pick between Lade and Miller with the rest of the line being Conde-Holgersson-Barklage (assuming Barklage continues his form). The midfield though, is a total crapshoot. Right now we have 7 guys who, while offering different skill sets, are playing more or less at the same level with many of them being capable of more than one role. I'm honestly struggling to pick the best four, let alone line them up tactically, between Lindpere, Ballouchy, Dax, Tainio, Rafa, Richards, and Solli. Our midfield, when all healthy, could easily look completely different every week to tactically match our opponents.
The last two games we have been playing a 5-4-1, because McCarty has been playing way back like a third CB....That is why I say that will like to see him play CB with Holgersson....and live lade and Barklage at the sides...the LW position let Miller and Solli fight for it, I think miller will do a better job than Solli at LW.....
Ruthven has been great so far.. No need to take him out. Dax is fine at DM and he does have the ability to link the defense to the offense.
Yup, but in his way is Marquez, Tainio and one more according to Soler that they will sign in the summer brake, that will make with Palsson and Ballouchy and him seven CMF, from whom he will play, instead of Marquez or Tainio or the new DP, I don't think so, better use him as a CB.....
---------------------------Meara------------------------- Barklage-------Holgerson-----Conde---------Lade--- ----------------------------Dax---------------------------- Solli----------------------Lindpere-------------Miller ------------------Cooper-----------Henry------------ You could move Lindpere out wide left and slot Taino in. Then it would be a decision between lade and miller at left back. But the reason I like this line up though is that it gives cover to the inexperience back line whilst also keeping a good amount speed on the wings and increasing service from right side.
I would personally either have Lade or Miller at LB, Richards on the right, and Solli on the left. That's just me. But in reality who knows. Marquez has to fit in somewhere. I doubt he gets benched.
I dunno, I don't believe for a second that he was injured today. Not a single report of him struggling in training and all of the sudden he has an ankle injury that keeps him not only off the field but off the bench? Did I just miss a report on this?
Dane has just not offered a lot going forward as of late. And you get the same if not more defense out of Solli. That also would put him on his dominate foot as well so you end up getting more and to be quite honest better crossing. Plus that leaves Dane for a late game sub when his speed running against tired defenders would be better used. As far as miller on the left well he is left footed and he is pretty quick in his own right, not Dane quick, but thats ok. It also offers cover for Lade. So that is a solid defensive line up also gives good offensive ablity
Right now I think this is our best lineup if all healthy. Tainio could fill in at def mid or r back. Keep Rafa on bench.
----------------Meara------------ Barklage---Nesta---Conde---Lade ----------Dax--------Tainio-------- ---------------Lindpere------------ -----Henry-------------Agudelo----- ---------------Cooper------------- Of course if Nesta does in fact come. Would ship Marquez and Miller.
