Why does he get all bonery everytime he get's to tell you that a portion of a match is brought to you by Mickee Dees? I know it's a sponsor and all, but he goes above and beyond the call of duty whenever it comes time to announce the sponsor.

Now if he were giddy everytime the Johnny Walker sponsorship came up, that would answer a WHOLE LOT of questions.....

Apparently, he wants his current gig to lead to something "bigger". His last commercial was more than 25 years ago for tobacco-chewing Skoal's (which would make a Jonny Walker plug that much more interesting) so maybe he's hoping someone from McD's calls.

Every 5 minutes they were hawking that 4-ticket McD's deal, whatever the hell it's called.

Put a McDonalds sponsor logo on the uniform, take the bread, and get it over with. They're so close to being the official number one sponsor already. I won't mind.

During one of the matches a few weeks ago it was at the portion sponsored by McDonalds and Metro scored. Shep quickly took the initiative and said "This portion of the match sponsored by McDonald's, and BOY AM I LOVIN IT RIGHT NOW!"

So I guess it stuck. Cangy seems to think it's funny, although when JP does the matches here is the dialogue:

JP: This portion of the match sponsored by OH A SHOT JUST WIDE OF THE FRAME!!!! by McDonalds.
Shep: OH BABY I'm lovin it!
JP: **eyeballs Shep up and down with a "god you disgust me" look

It's a running joke meant to make the tacky announcer-read ads a little more fun, and a little less awkward. It seems to me like it started because JP hated reading them, and thus had a hard time sounding enthusiastic about it. Messing hams it up and enjoys it. Be happy that they don't sponsor goals - the Yankees used to have their home runs sponsored by Ballantine Beer - such that after a homer, the radio announcer would scream, "It's a Ballantine Blast by Maris!"

    It could be worse.

They currently feature Corrs Light Silver Bullet Blasts and some hideously fascist double play sponsorship that is supposed make us better people as well- I forget the damn product.

So, it's not only Metro. And if Shep gets a kick out it, hey, good for Shep. He gets paid to watch Metro games, I do not. He drives a Mercedes. I do not. If the price he has to pay for that is selling his soul to the devil by hamming up some fast food ads, I'd pay it as well.
