I saw the commercials for that yesterday. It is so incredibly stupid and dangerous, encouraging people to go out to Taco Bell, all on one day, to get a free f*cking taco, to "promote Covid-19 safety"! It is absolutely counter productive. A much, much better suggestion would be to offer a free taco coupon to everyone who logs onto Taco Bell.com (or whatever the site is), to be used the week after the shelter in place orders subside. That would encourage people to go out when it is safe to do so.
Today, it was a seasoned roast chicken, baked potatoes, chicken-herb gravy, green beans and cheddar biscuits... mostly made by hand (I did use a mix for the biscuits). For dessert, Polish-style gooseberry gelatin (which does set as hard as Jell-O). We almost never have been able make dinner together, but she is not working (bars are closed) and I am working from my basement. Not too bad.
The big bosses are giving us essential employees a $20/day lunch allowance. I'm forcing everyone in the office to patronize local small restaurants. Yesterday was Mexican from Sergios in Geneva and today was Japanese from Ju Rin.
I sure hope there was no Coronavirus on my steering wheel or phone but it would be worth it. I think I'll go back after work for more.
